Tokyo is an ugly city, a tangled mess of architecture, people, and infrastructure. Your photos quite accurately capture the broad sweep of the urban landscape. There are, however, oases of calm and delight but you have to seek them out. Sometimes you stumble across them. Just choose a neighborhood--there are 23 main cities within metropolitan Tokyo--and head out from a station in whichever direction you choose. One of my hobbies is seeking out natural springs and wells. It's surprising, but they exist. One is located in the Meiji Jingu compound garden. Happy travels!
is there more reasons why tokyo is an ugly city?
