Buckle up, internet! Dwayne Johnson is spicing up our lives with a bit of The Rock’s BDE. But wait, it’s not what you think because BDE in Dwayne’s language is Big Dwayne Energy.

Now, what is BDE, you ask?

Allow Dwayne to explain it himself.

The actor shared a video of himself playing a game and explaining what qualifies as BD(wayne)E and what doesn’t.

“We’re going to play a little game, and this is called ‘What is Big Dwayne Energy and what is not,’” Dwayne said as he walked in front of the camera sporting a black turtleneck and a fanny pack in a new Instagram post he shared on Tuesday.

Throughout the video, random things like figure skating, recycling, turtlenecks, and ghosting your date were listed out. And Dwayne proclaimed whether they are BDE or not.

“Figure skating,” a voice in the background said.

“BDE. Big Dwayne Energy for sure,” Dwayne replied, “because figure skaters are badass, and their legs, and their quads, and their glutes — I’m making it sound really weird right now — but they are in total shape, and they are badasses.”

Now, ghosting your date — is it BDE or not?

It’s “totally f—-d up. Not BDE,” Dwayne said.

What about “socks with sandals?”

“Initially, I would say that’s not BDE, but I’m going to say that is big-time BDE because I know a whole bunch of my boys in Southern Cali, they rock the socks, they rock the sandals. Those are boys you also don’t want to fuck with,” he said and broke out into a laugh.

Now that you know what BDE is, there’s more! BDE is part of Dwayne’s campaign for ZOA Energy drinks, produced by the company ZOA, which Dwayne co-founded with his ex-wife Dany Garcia, her husband Dave Rienzi, and John Shulman.

The new campaign for the energy drink shows people channeling their inner BDE by drinking ZOA and being able to do their mundane everyday tasks with extra pizazz and efficiency.

“I wanted to create a campaign where I could look as ridiculous as possible,” the actor said

The 51-year-old star spoke about the campaign to People and said he wanted to look “as ridiculous as possible” but still have fun.

“I wanted to create a campaign where I could look as ridiculous as possible and put me in these ridiculous outfits and clothing that I would still have fun in,” he said.

BDE is all about knowing that “your true self is all you need,” Dwayne Johnson said

As he spoke about BDE, Dwayne said it’s all about having fun and being your true self.

“Number one, quieting the noise,” he told the outlet. “There’s so much noise out there that we always fight to quiet, and it could be so distracting, and at times, so cynical and negative.”

Then, “have fun and know that your true self is all you need.”

Dave, ZOA’s Chief Innovation Officer, also spoke to the outlet about BDE and said, “I think it’s really a doubling down on your personal confidence and being your true, authentic self and just being unapologetic about that.”
