So it should come as no surprise that when Reddit user AlgorithmOmega asked people on the platform to share the dumbest statements they've heard, the responses came pouring in, showcasing just how common and relatable these moments are.

I'll add sight issues to the list. I need to wear glasses or contacts to see properly, I can't function without them, both are expensive. The doctor visit is covered, but not lenses. I could get laser surgery, but that's not covered either, what's worse there is no guarantee it will fix the problems completely. So glasses it is :p

As someone who has lived in Canada, Germany, and the US, I can kind of understand what they might have been trying to say. Yes, the American ***health insurance for profit*** system is absolutely horrific. However, the quality of care and innovation that I have personally received in the US has been much better than Canada or Germany. But, that said, I would much prefer universal healthcare here.

My fantastic family medical doctor regretfully retired before he was actually solvent enough because of his genuine regard for his patients. He couldn't stomach health care companies "telling him how to practice medicine". It had a very telling affect on his mental and physical health so to my great sadness he retired. You don't need a tax hike. The USA spends half as much again per capita of taxpayers' money as the UK because its healthcare system is an inefficient patchwork. You could socialise healthcare and *cut* taxes.

There is some truth to that. Because of how much money it makes it can invest a lot more money into research and development meaning a lot of it is years ahead of other countries in diagnostics and treatment. I had cancer in America, when I moved to the UK I was asked to sign over my medical notes to a research team to study.

US citizens, correct me if I am wrong... Huge profits in the US healthcare go into pockets of the higher-ups, only a small part into R&D. And the fact they wanted to check your medical notes most probably is to just check how the US handled your case, to get a grip on where you were at, and compare it to the UK practices.

the original statement was that ONLY mpr vaccine caused autism. If you look datas, in japan there was a great reduction of mpr vaccines, if the statement was true you should have observed that the autism numbers should have decreased in proportion when it was not (they was in line with the normal trend)

30 Things People Said That Gave Away That They Are Not The Brightest Crayon In The Box I write software, had a boss with little technical knowledge for a bit.

He asked me to 'make the software do X or Y depending on what the user wanted when they clicked the button'. I asked what he meant, he got upset, told me it was simple. If the user wants X to happen when they click the button, do that! If they want Y to happen when they click the button, do that! At first I thought maybe he meant there was some other way to figure that out from context.. but no, ultimately he meant 'read the users mind and intent when they click the button'.
