Here’s What 7 Bedrooms Would Look Like If Famous Drag Queens From RuPaul’s Drag Race Decorated Them
I bet it's safe to say that some of us have, at least once, thought of how some of the most famous people across the world would decorate their houses or bedrooms. Yes, it's a random thought, we know, but what if? There are a lot of different celebrities that are interesting in their own kind of way, but have you ever heard of RuPaul’s Drag Race?
The contestants of the popular competition reality TV show that revolves around finding America's next drag superstar are super interesting and intricate in their own way. And what would be more interesting than seeing what kind of bedrooms these unique and eccentric contestants and winners of the said TV show would have? How does a drag queen decorate their bedroom?
Well, the designer team of Household Quotes UK decided to answer this question. The dedicated team behind Household Quotes UK tried their best to capture the unique looks and personalities of some of the world’s most famous drag queens. And here's what they've got!

Sharon Needles’ Bedroom (Season 4 Winner)
Do you wear your darkness on the outside?
Sharon Needles enchanted us in season four with her post-apocalyptic couture look. She single-handedly redefined what it meant to be a drag queen. Throwing away the glitter and sparkles, her incredible makeup straddled the borders between fantasy and reality. We couldn’t take our eyes off her.
As Sharon says, “When in doubt, freak ‘em out.” So we decided to do something different. Our black-and-pink design incorporated both sides of Sharon’s ensemble.
We’ve opted for a spider’s web-like chandelier, long, flowing near-transparent curtains, and, of course, a ‘queen-size’ bed with highlights from both sides of the colour spectrum.
Spacious and flecked with light, the contrasts in colour represent every aspect of Sharon’s drag personality. For the multifaceted drag queen, the dark wood wall panelling and fluffy pink carpet gently play off each other for a signature look.
You’ll see that we’ve also accessorized Sharon’s bedroom with a picture taken from the album cover of her iconic second album, Taxidermy. The eyeball just follows you around the room.
It's a shame Sharon Needles is a disgusting racist and sort of not a good person. I used to worship her :(
Trixie Mattel’s Bedroom (Season 3 All-Stars Winner)
To recreate a bedroom design inspired by Trixie Mattel, we took a highly stylized futuristic look, resembling the sharp lines she embraces when she’s in drag. Bringing together a living doll’s house with the 1960s futuristic hippie chic, we’ve recreated this Barbie girl’s fandom at home.
Using candy pink and sunshine yellow, we’ve included everything the Funko Pop icon needs to get into the character of Trixie Mattel. From the elegant vanity table to the wavy light-up mirror, this is the ultimate safe space for any girly girl.
We’ve also included plenty of space for creativity. With wide-open spaces, we think there’s plenty of space for Trixie to compile yet another landmark folk hit. You’ll also notice we’ve incorporated both her famous white guitar and autoharp.
In our humble opinion, this is not just a place to relax; this is a place to unlock every ounce of buried creativity.
Together with Trixie’s off-the-wall personality, we’ve paid special attention to every dimension of her bedroom. This is why we’ve created a gorgeous textured ceiling to add additional focal points wherever you look.
If futuristic combined with vintage is your thing, this is the design to inspire you.
This isn't far off her real pussy pink barbie house she currently lives in. Also next year on Discovery+ trixie is doing a tv show called Trixie Motel with her boyfriend David. She will get her famous friends to each decorate a Palm Springs motel room.
If you look up Trixie Mattel I doubt you'd consider this too gaudy for the party in question. Given the last name I think this works.
Load More Replies...Valentina’s Bedroom (Season 9 Contestant)
Season 9’s Miss Congeniality created a huge controversy when she was eliminated following her lip sync battle, where she wore a mouth cover and couldn’t remember her lyrics.
The Latina Queen is filled with Spanish flair, and her crack-of-a-whip personality has been captured in her bedroom design. With strong, richly coloured reds dominating, we’ve included lots of roses in homage to the emoji she made famous following her season 9 controversy.
Valentina’s bedroom has been designed with her penchant for Spanish and Mexican culture in mind. Whether embracing a sharp bullfighter or a sexy flamenco dancer, we’ve created a flourishing black-and-white mosaic floor that contrasts perfectly with the warm richness of the rest of the room.
While designing the fan favorite’s bedroom, we spent a lot of time playing with the lighting to spotlight the heart of this room. Valentina bewitched millions across the world, and we decided to highlight that through a dark-to-light gradient from corner to centre.
We’ve topped off this simple yet powerful design with some small green palms, making anyone think you were relaxing in a traditional Mexican hacienda. You can almost hear the castanets from here!
Violet Chahki’s Bedroom (Season 7 Winner)
Did you ever hear the one about Violet Chahki stealing Sharon Needles’ season four crown? We don’t know if this is true, but what we do know is Violet has inspired millions with her one-of-a-kind burlesque glampire creation.
For this design, we couldn’t go for anything other than the colour violet. We’ve opted for an open fireplace with strategically placed violet mood lighting flanked by two Victorian-style wall lights.
You’ll also notice we’ve paid homage to the Corset Queen’s distinctive fashion sense with a mannequin opposite her Hollywood glam dressing table. We see Violet’s bedroom as a mixture of a Disney vampire castle and the elegance of an aristocrat’s country home.
Finally, we’ve topped it all off with her signature neon brand name above the bed. Whether embracing a more gothic style or 1920s cabaret, this bedroom is a little piece of Violet Chahki’s reality made manifest.
This was one of our favourite bedrooms to design, and it’s not hard to see why the Violet Chahki alter ego took her to the crown in season seven.
Jaida Essence Hall’s Bedroom (Season 12 Winner)
Other drag queens have opted for everything from living Barbie dolls to gothic princesses. Jaida Essence Hall is the ultimate billionaire’s trophy wife. Exuding elegance and traditional glamour, Jaida Essence Hall is always the bell of the ball.
The season 12 winner gained worldwide fame for being the quintessential heiress and socialite. Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian have got nothing on her, and we’ve designed her bedroom around that.
Featuring all things luxury and a luxurious queen-size bed, everything that glitters really is gold in this bedroom. We’ve also included mannequins to show off Jaida’s designs. After all, she is famous for making every single one of her outfits on season 12, excluding her tulle dress.
This ebony goddess has the bedroom designed for both work and play, whether she’s strutting her stuff or working at the sewing machine next to her bed. Opulence, thy name is Jaida.
Kim Chi’s Bedroom (Season 8 Runner-Up)
Kim Chi was one of the most stylish contestants to ever feature on RuPaul’s Drag Race. An anime character brought to life; the bionic dolly delivered her ultraviolet aura to the stage in a burst of colour and fun. But there’s another side to Kim Chi we loved, the elegance, the odd, and the exotic.
We attempted to capture her multidimensional personality in her bedroom design. Combining the sleek, sharp lines with a touch of bright pinks, greens, and blues, this is an homage to her love of the anime Death Note.
You’ll notice the anime-inspired canvases sitting above and adjacent to the soft lighting provided by two square shade lamps on either side of the multistorey box bed. We’ve also included a futuristic-inspired patterned rug to add a touch of fun to the otherwise ordered design.
All this takes place underneath the focal point of the white starburst chandelier, an explosion frozen in time.
Yvie Oddly’s Bedroom (Season 11 Winner)
How does one design a bedroom for the queen that cannot be defined? From high fashion to glam goddess to street punk, Yvie has always described herself as the “authentic weirdo.” We had a tough time pinning down a single design to best suit the season eleven winner.
So, we decided to combine together a whirlwind of colour with traditional high Georgian window frames. Attempting to capture a balance between the conventional and the oddities that make Yvie’s circus fashion a worldwide icon, we’ve opted for a simple wooden floor and exposed brickwork.
We’ve taken inspiration from her first album, Weirdo, and decorated the exposed brickwork with several multicoloured canvases, paying particular attention to her little beloved dolls.
Your eyes will also be drawn to our modern take on the classic chandelier. Using what can only be described as inspired by the British Strawberry Laces candy, we feel this adds a touch of chaos to the otherwise ordered layout of Yvie’s bedroom.
Finally, we’ve paid homage to the focal point in the room with an authentic Hollywood movie lighting camera in the corner. Just in case you forget who’s the star of the show!
just go to the circus! (all jokes aside I love bianca dearly)

I kinda like Sharon Needle bedroom, that spider chandelier light fixture look stunning from afar, actually looks kinda messy from close up. But I do like the black wall and pink color. Trixie Mattel bedroom looks so cute and happy. And I also like Jaida Essence Hall bedroom, I like the contemporary style and the only room have balcony
STUNNING! I'd love to see Juno Birch, Shea Coulee, Gottmik, Sister Sister, Miz Cracker, Tayce, Aquaria, or Bebe!
I CAME HERE FOR VANJY/VANJIE. Severely, dissapointed. Sending this to my mama tho.
Not much use without pictures of the queens. Nice idea, aside from that.
