TikTok User Shared Emotional Last Day With Her Dog, Touched Almost 10 Million People Online
If you knew your last day was imminent, wouldn’t you cherish every moment, spend it with those you love, savor your favorite meal, and indulge in the simple joys of life? Kane, a pitbull-mastiff mix, faced such a day. A fast-spreading tumor inside him meant he didn’t have much time left, and his vet suggested that euthanizing him would be the kindest option.
Facing this heart-wrenching decision, Niyah Belmont, Kane’s dedicated owner, ensured his final day was nothing short of extraordinary. She documented the day in one video, with a single goal in mind: to fill Kane’s last moments with happiness and serenity.

Share on FacebookI have to do this with my little man, Winston Churchill, in three days....REALLY NOT looking forward to my days without his sweet meows. I'm gonna go cry 'til I barf now.👋🏾
Every dog or cat should have chocolate before they cross the Rainbow Bridge. I've done this with all my furbabies. My vet is a firm believer that our babies shouldn't die without at least experiencing a chocolate "kiss".
Mine got T bone steaks for dinner the last couple days. Not really sposed to because fatty, bones... but not like it mattered by that point. Was talking with my neighbour a few weeks ago and his old boy was on his last legs too. He said the vet actually had a chocolate cake that's somehow laced with the drugs. So the dog eats it and goes out happy at the same time. Not really sure whether I like the idea or not. But I wouldn't judge it.
Load More Replies...this made me cry. I just feel so sorry for dogs. I once saw a stray dog in romania and it had a broken leg and I started to cry. a dog with a broken leg. 😭😭😭😭😭😢😢😢😢
Girl wasted too much time taking pictures and thinking about how to make it into a viral story.
Really? Really? Why would you spend all that time posting on social media when you could have spent that time with your dog? I hate social media like that. Just after the likes and attention.
In this day and age, it’s possible, but it’s also possible that she just wanted to share some of the wholesomeness and love with everyone else. There’s a reason stories like these get attention, it’s because they make us feel good and that not everything is so terrible, that even in hard moments there’s room for love. I don’t really see a reason for immediately assuming she did it all for attention, that she didn’t really care about her dog at all. That just seems like a miserable way to look at things.
Load More Replies...His face in the last pic, you can tell he's so worried why she's upset, just the look in his eyes like "mom, what's wrong?"
I lost my goodboi 4 years ago, and I still watch the stars at night, imagine him somewhere up there, and talk to him. And I know that he can hear me and he tilts his head aside, just like he did it when he was with me. Probably strange behavior, but it comforts me more than I can describe. M, 53, mentally sane (or, at least, that's what I've been told). P.S.: I didn't watch a video, it still hurts me so much.
My wife called me a rude because I made her read it. I don't care, I'm not sitting here crying alone any more.
It dawned on me my cat is middle aged now. Seems like just yesterday she was a kitten. I really really dread her getting old, I can't stand the thought of her not being around.
Mine’s quite elderly and is sick, the vet suggested putting her down a few months ago, we decided not to but we aren’t sure how much time she’s got left anyways.
Load More Replies...Oh my God! The look of the dog: he knows 😢 Farewell, good Doggo! 🌈
is it just me, or did I think she actually made him into breakfast from the thumbnail i couldnt tell
yeah I thought those were his legs for a sec
Load More Replies...While I know the dog would have enjoyed all the food, I'll bet the what they liked most was getting to spend the whole day with their best pal.
Our dog had an unoperable osteosarcoma, when we noticed the lump it was 4-5 times larger inside. As he was still enjoying life we treated him palliativly, but bore in mind that we would have to make the sad visit eventually. When the time came, it was during lockdown, my daughter who is training to be a vet found someone who would come to your home to do the deed. I took a day off that day and we gave him the best day, walks to his favorite places, swims in the local lake, best doggie treats etc. When the time came he fell asleep with his people around him and his best friend Willow the cat at his side. We still miss our crazy labbie. The rainbow bridge called him too early at 8 yrs old.
I lost 2 kitties in about 4 days; they looked similar so they were called Pink and Li'l Pink. Li'l Pink was about 4 and had Feline Infectious Peritonitis and Pink was 15. Old age got him...I still miss them.
This hits hard. I'm saying goodbye to my dog tomorrow. Hes 15 or 16 years old and I named him when I was a toddler. Its going to hurt more than anything
I knew I would end up crying, but had to say goodbye to this very good boy. Goodbye sweetheart, be safe. You won't be in pain anymore ❤
Nope, not sitting here crying at work. I wish our pets lived so much longer.
oh god i didn't expect to cry this early today. we had to put our pitbull mix down in april with only a week's notice. gosh i miss her.
Awww I’m sorry :( we had to put our pit bull mix down a few years ago, it was very sad especially since he was a very good boy
Load More Replies...I'm so, so sorry for your loss...and everybody else here who lost or will lose their beloved pet. I know it's way more than a pet to the most of you, which makes it even harder. But I'm convinced, no, I KNOW, though I have no proof, through reading and study for many years, that we will all meet each other again after death. We do not end. And we will see all the ones we loved in our lives again, no matter their shape on earth. Mourn, but don't dispare.
We are NOT crying over some sweet, wonderful dog. Absolutely not. Don't be ridiculous.
Bye, Kane. What a great send-off. Hope I'll remember it when my dog's time comes. Chocolate!! Every dog deserves to taste chocolate!
This is so sad 🥺 but I'm glad he had such a good owner to give him a very special last day. 🥹❤️ idk how I'll say goodbye to my fur babies when the time comes I'd rather not think of that tho
I recently had my dog put to sleep and it was one of the hardest things I have ever done. I miss that good boy everyday
We had my horse PTS at grand old age of 29 last November (with me for 19 years, since I was 14). Vet was booked quite early in the morning but she had some special treats and a good fuss, but nothing too out of her usual routine (her day-to-day life was pretty idyllic and a big change would have caused stress - the vet knew her well as she had several conditions which were being well-managed until one no longer was, and she frequently said how lucky Molly was. We always said we were the lucky ones). It was a gorgeous day and we completely held it together until after, she was so calm and went so peacefully - the last thank you we could give her, a perfect death.
We had to do this with our old Lab in his 15th year. Since he absolutely loved swimming, we went to his favorite lake and watched him slowly swim around in circles to collect tennis balls. In the evening we went home and sat on the floor in the living room, so that he could lay down in our laps (he never understood he was too big to be a lap dog) and munch on logs of wood (he had a complete set of teeth to his last day!). I miss you buddy.
I wish I could have done this for my cat. I wanted to but his health deteriorated much faster than expected. His condition was ok-ish the week before, I thought we had a few weeks/months left, but over the weekend things went downhill rapidly so I had to have the vet put him to sleep on Monday morning. I cried for 2 weeks straight. I couldn't give him the best last day possible. But at least he had a pain-free and peaceful death.
So touching. I wish I could've done this with my sweet boy Phillip. The house seems empty and desolate without his purring.
