Pet Store Discontinues The Only Toy This Elderly Dog Plays With So Owner Asks Help From The Internet
We all have a favorite irreplaceable item. Maybe it’s a sweater, a pair of shoes, or even a household item, whatever the case may be there is nothing quite like it. Well, for Jaxon the Chihuahua that incomparable thing is a particular plush green alligator or “Greenie.” Each time Jaxon wears out a Greenie, his owner Kelli Brown replaces it with a new one, however, this time around there would be no replacement – the toy had been discontinued.
Just like any good mom would, Brown set out on a mission to find the plush chew toy. She explained to the Dodo that the alligator was very important to Jaxon, “He was adopted from our local shelter on December 8, 2014, and I put one of these toys in his stocking the first year we had him (our other dog got the red version — which was a dragon), and this has just always been the only toy he’s ever played with!”
The Kentucky resident posted a plea to the internet, tweeting directly at the supplier PetSmart. As we know, sometimes the internet can be a magical place. A PetSmart employee in Texas, Kendyl Kercho, saw the post on the WeRateDogs Twitter account and shared it to her employee Facebook group as well as hunted the aisles of her own store.
Luckily for Jaxon it only took a search in another state to find his treasure. “I actually squeaked audibly when I found the clearance toy bin in the back where they were tucked away,” Kercho said. “I immediately told my manager, ‘These are the toys I’ve been looking for for my Chihuahua friend in Kentucky!’”

I love how he proudly holds the toy down with his paw in the picture with the card. "Mine. Hear that, bro? MINE."
Also how he's RIGHT THERE, snatching one out of the box! What a happy boy!
Load More Replies...Having replacements on hand is good advice. My sister's dog had a favorite squeaky frog, and she always had a couple of backups for when Froggy got lost or destroyed. After he died, she found one of them in her pasture, and we all had an "Awwww, Froggy!" moment... ;'(
