Artist Who Made People Cry With Her ‘Good Boy’ Comics Just Released A New One About A Dog, Says It Was Painful To Draw
311k followers on Jenny Jinya’s Instagram account know what they have signed up for. Her comic strips are not for the faint-hearted, and it’s because they show the harsh reality of how cruel humans can be to animals. Jenny’s stories have been dubbed tearjerkers that stick with us for days to come.
This time, the German illustrator is back with a heartbreaking strip about a dog born to be bred as a dog fighter. “I’m sorry it took me so long. It was extremely painful to draw,” confessed Jenny to her followers and we feel her.
It’s not the first time Jenny has raised awareness on animal cruelty. Her previous equally powerful comic strips featured a black cat, a duck, an albatross, a lion, and an elephant.

Jenny just released a new strip showing the cruel practice of dog fights
Bored Panda reached out to Jenny to find out what led her to draw this particular strip on a dog fighter. It turns out, the artist was always bothered by the extremely negative stigma these dogs have. But she knew they were the sweetest animals since her friends had them.
Jenny was aware that pit bulls are forced to fight and endure severe injuries. But the research she did before drawing revealed an even darker side to it. “I first learned that pit bull puppies are partly stolen from normal households and trained. These animals were hoping for a family full of love and are taken away into a world of violence and loneliness.”
The German illustrator confessed that the more she read “about this blood sport, the heavier my heart became.” This touching strip is a result of Jenny’s profound sorrow.
It turns out, Jenny was reluctant to work on the topic because it was too painful

In a previous interview with Bored Panda, Jenny said that it is emotionally draining to create such powerful stories. “Conducting research about the issue in question is always depressing enough, but when I sketch out the storyboard, a few tears run down my cheeks, too,” she confessed.
Her recent comic on a dog fighter showed what a terrible form of animal cruelty it truly is. “The dogs are raised in isolation, drugged, abused, and mistreated since they were puppies. Conditioned to be aggressive and ready to fight,” reads the artist’s statement in the post, which got 127K likes in just two days.
Dog fighting is considered a felony offense in all 50 states, declared the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. According to their report, dog fighting victims “may have their ears cropped and tails docked” to “limit the areas another dog can grab onto in a fight” and “to shut down body language cues.”
Victims may also be given a variety of drugs like ”anabolic steroids to enhance muscle mass and encourage aggressiveness.” Other narcotic drugs are used to “increase aggression and mask pain or fear during a fight.”
And this is what people had to say

Share on FacebookThis cruel sport, along with all the others that cause animals to be abused and tortured MUST BE STOPPED. I think I need to do more to support charities who work on these issues...
It must be stopped, yes, but it will not without good people raising their voices for those tortured animals. Yes Oskar, you need and you shall support animal protections organizations which fight animal cruelty, all good people should do that or they are not good. Human rights, social justice are unattainable without animal rights, their right to be treated humanely and with kindness. "Cruelty to animals is one of the most significant vices of a low and ignoble people. Where over one notices them they constitute a sign of ignorance and brutality which cannot be painted over even by all the evidence of wealth and luxury." - Alexander von Humboldt ____ "Those who have the privilege to know have the duty to act." - Albert Einstein
