We Found Out My Traumatized Rescue Dog Feels Happy Among Flowers, So We Bring Her To All The Fields We Can Find (22 Pics)
After four years it is still hard for me to understand Tofu’s needs sometimes. She was found in a Romanian kill shelter, where she was saved at only four months old and she came to live with us. Her behavior is so different from my other dog and from basically every dog I ever met, we affectionately call her our cat. Mostly because she loves, loves to sleep… On top of things, her favorite place is my bed. She hates walkies and going out, except when it snows; she will not come back in when it snows. She will roll in the snow, hugging it, eating it, loving it.
Her other passion is flowers. When she was about 8 months old we visited her first flower field. Instead of her normal fears, she would delicately hop hop between them flowers and take a sit in the middle. While we were doing our thing, she would sit and lay there, far away from us, for minutes, up to half an hour or so. Until I will come and get her; we do have to leave at a certain point.
We bring her to every field we see and for the last three years I began photographing her happy moments between her ‘friends’. Eyes closed, nose in the air, enjoying every moment. If you are interested, you can find my previous post here on Bored Panda.

Seeing the beautiful flowers
Feeling the sun on her little face
Smelling the amazing tulips
Sister is giving her a concern
Flower trance
I will carry her majestic floof up to every blossoming tree
Blossoms
This one time I brought the wrong pet
Taking a nap in the hyacinths
Flower ghoul in the back
Looking at the fields we couldn’t reach
We found a poppy field
The first crocuses after a long winter
A field of wild flowers in France
Every sunflower field, blossoming or not

Share on FacebookRosanne, thank you for rescuing Tofu and giving her a loving home and taking her on fun outdoor adventures where she feels safe. BTW, she is very cute
I hope they asked permission. I've seen recent news articles about landowners who are upset that strangers wander their land, pick flowers, take pictures, etc without a thought to the fact that it's private property. Garbage left behind, tour buses, you name it.
In the Netherlands there are fields specially planted for photos, so the other fields aren't bothered by people, so yes
Load More Replies...I really miss the fields of flowers in the Netherlands.... I've been in the UK for 10 years and I lived in the Netherlands for 12... Your gorgeous little dog is in such a beautiful place, loads and loads of gorgeous flower fields to enjoy. May she have a long and very happy and very floral life x
We have a rescue dog we think acts like a cat in a dog suit. We also have a rescue cat who’s like a dog in a cat suit. Weird, I know. But it happens sometimes. But they’re both well fed, sleep inside where it’s safe, have toy boxes stuffed with toys, and gets loads of attention from us humans. Ditto for our other two rescue cats too. All four rescued straight off the street, btw.
This is one of the most beautiful things I've seen - What a truly lovely person
I love both, flowers and pups. And I follow Rosanne Van Zanten on FB, IG and Bored Panda now and hope for more posts from her and her pup.
Thank you for rescuing Tofu. Wonderful that you discovered what makes her so happy when there’s no snow. You folks in the Netherlands have really hit on an idea for visiting fields of flowers. But then, for thousands of visitors, your beautiful flowers are one of the reasons they come. And I love your dog snuggle. I have a cat and she strangely isn’t even into boxes.
It’s my work Floof Couture :))) the Instagram link is in the article ♥️
Load More Replies...Good for you and Tofu. I and a lot of other people could probably use a flower field chill out too. Thanks.
Translation: in China we eat dogs. You are a disgusting human being. That’s also a stereotype so please kindly shut up if you have nothing nice to say
