My 38 New Surreal Images That I Created To Raise Awareness About Speciesism
Have you ever wondered how someone can be moved to tears by a news story about a killed lion, yet feel no remorse over putting a maggot on the hook and go fishing?
The answer is speciesism, the belief that one species is more important than another. In an effort to make people know about something that is commonly unknown about, I created this art in an effort to raise awareness about this issue.
I am really not trying to convince anybody to live a certain way. Because no matter what choices you’ve made, it's yours to make! What I want to do is to start people talking in a friendly and relaxed way. By connecting deep issues with beautiful art, I am trying to create this "common ground" surrounding the topics. The art becomes like a mediator.
The purpose of the art is to show how we are all one in (and with) nature, the earth and its life forces. If a cow can be best friends with a lion, we should treat our planet and everything on it as our best friends. Because no matter species or belief, we all need to be one with each other.

Load More Replies...I appreciate the stated goal here but I feel you've entirely missed the mark in execution. The maggot and fish hook analogy was great, but then all your images just show traditionally *beautiful* animals in aesthetically pleasing images. This is not thought provoking in any way. Cows and lions cannot be friends. I watched 9 lions attempt to kill a buffalo this morning, they were unsuccessful, but will no doubt kill it tonight. They wont feel sorry for it or let it go cuz it put up a good fight. They will kill it and eat it, although I'm not sure what lions and cows being friends has to do with speciesism. Put that maggot you speak of in an iconic-ly styled image that pushes the boundaries of what we think about maggots. Show us rats posed as someone would a puppy. I will consider that I've somehow completely missed something in your images, if I have could you explain?
Hahaha, why do you assume I didn´t 😂 🙈
Load More Replies...Just here to answer the question about killed lion and hooked maggot: one of them is a sentient animal, the other one an reflex-driven pest. And I'm completely neglecting the "endangered species vs. multiplying in an instant on everything that rots" argument. Flawed comparison to begin with, and I'm doubting OP really wants to "raise awareness" of anything but his/her own pictures that have little to do with "speciesism"
All life matters! Everything from tiny proto-molecules right up to giant sequoias. This post is biased toward things with faces.
I supppse the author doesn't literally mean humans are no more important than, say, dung beetles, or that (having to choose) we should save a giraffe rather than a human baby, but simply that we shouldn't ignore other species. Nice art!
