Some Time Ago I Challenged Myself To Create An Origami Crane Every Day For 1000 Days (New Pics)
After having folded and decorated origami cranes daily for 1000 consecutive days (see my previous post on Bored Panda), I took a short break, but I could not stop creating new ones, even though no longer on a daily basis.
I am allowing myself to explore more themes and techniques, and to find inspiration in even more places.
These are some of my latest creations. Some are inspired by things like Greek mythology and Japanese folklore, while others come from the joy of nature, or personal experiences.

okay, question- after he made 1000 of these things, what the actual hecky dizzle did he do with them? first of all they probably take up a lot of space considering there's 1000 of them but also they're so delicate so they have to be placed in somewhere safe. I AM CONFUSION
Some people are so damn creative! Upvote, people, UPVOTE!!! He deserves your votes!!
Dragon crane? Love the thorns up the spine. So carefully thought out and placed.
at first i was going to vote down (really, how ould anyone vote down with these lovelies??)but i looked again and i love the whimsy!! bravo!!
I know there is some strong meaning to the red envelopes....but I don't know what it is. ( the cure for ignorance is to ask questions ) Please someone tell us ?
They confer good luck - oh and typically contain cash for wedding gifts or New Year gifts.
Load More Replies...I like the details of this with a holiday feel. Beautiful color combination and details very unique.
I did a similar project for my sick friend. She had lung cancer and was told she did not have long to live. I had just read Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes and got everyone I knew to start making paper cranes. For her birthday we hung up the cranes in her room while she went out for dinner with her family. She lived despite what the doctors said and she thinks it is because of the 1000 paper cranes
That is a beautiful story, thank you for sharing. Best wishes to your friend
Load More Replies...these are incredible, however they are kirigami, not oragami, but personally i like kirigami better and these are magnificent
Thank you Kraken for that word; Kirigami. And yes Magnificent.
Load More Replies...As I understand it - Origami is the art of folding a single sheet of paper into a complex three dimensional shape or figure - no cutting. Have had an origami frog bought from a street seller for 20 years. Have resisted the urge to unfold and work out how it was done.
Load More Replies...I think probably magic because it's obviously impossible.
Load More Replies...These are astounding. I think he should be selling photos of them. Perhaps better without his hands. A clip would do it.

Cristian Marianciuc, I've thoroughly enjoyed all of these photos! Your work is just incredible! Thank you for sharing it with us!
You will find meaning for this art form :) i bet after 5000 you find it meaningless, own storage space and other problems occur ..
He sells a small range at IcarusMidAir on Etsy for around $100.
Load More Replies...The color choices, the variety of designs, the intricacy of the cuts...I had to up-vote them all! These are too fantastic to pick an overall favorite. These are all so delicate and beautiful. My soul lightened two shades after seeing these.
Here is a very nice article about him, and his 1.000 origami cranes: independent.ie/world-news/and-finally/this-guys-beautiful-origami-cranes-will-blow-you-away-and-so-will-the-reason-behind-them-36425014.html
