David Bowie’s Last Photo Shoot Before His Death
This is how you want to be remembered: David Bowie’s last photoshoot, done to promote his new album Blackstar, show the star dressed in a black fedora hat and suit and wearing a confident smile. The suit comes from fashion designer Thom Browne, and the photo was taken by Jimmy King. Bowie was last pictured in public at the opening for the musical Lazarus in New York on December 7.
“That’s the message that I sent,” says Bowie’s website where the photos were released. “Why is this man so happy? Is it because it‘s his 69th birthday or that he has released his 28th studio album today and it’s a corker? Who knows, but we’re sure you’ll want to join us in congratulating him on both. Many happy returns of the day to David Bowie and Blackstar.”

Share on FacebookHow to know you're great even exceptional. Smile, be happy about life. We knew a fraction of what was on Bowie’s shoulders. Yet before anything he smiled. In my opinion, that is what separates great people from the rest.
despite what was going on with him, he chose a splendid, gallant manner of leaving, here, as well in his last video, may he most surely rest in peace
So sad to see such a great mind just disappear... Safe trip back to the stars
Looks like the garb he wore for the movie "The Hunger" with Catherine Deneuve and Susan Sarandon. What a great forward thinker and stellar human being he was. LOVE to his family.
He looks far better in this photo shoot, than in his blackstar videos. He looks younger and full of life here.
Stunning pictures of a beautiful spirit. So many of us are absolutely bereft at the loss of DB. I love these photos of the true SUN KING in every sense of the word, full of joy in life, the opening of his new musical, and his love for life and all that goes with it. Thank you for having these two photos on boredpanda. Thank you.
I don't think he is wearing socks. Its that a reference similar to Paul being barefoot on the Abby Road cover?
Did we need to know who made the suit or who took the pic seems to ruin what the picture was really about.
I would want the world to know that I took these fabulous pictures if I were the photographer. David Bowie's joy and dash brings tears to my eyes.
