Remember The Drone Guy Who Asked Out A Girl Dancing On A Roof? He Finally Met Her In A Giant Inflatable Ball
Interview With ArtistRomance and dating during the coronavirus pandemic are possible, they just require some creativity. New York photographer Jeremy Cohen, who saw a girl dancing on the roof, sent her his phone number with a drone and had a long-distance rooftop dinner first date with her, has a wholesome update for us. He met up with Tori and went on a real date with her!
But before your alarm bells go off and you start fainting from the possible lack of social distancing, relax—this cool guy had it under control. He showed up in a giant inflatable ball and even brought flowers and hand sanitizer for Tori as gifts. Though he couldn’t give them to her because, well, he’s a responsible citizen rolling around in a plastic bubble.
Jeremy even got stopped by the police, but don’t worry, he didn’t get into any trouble. They recognized him from the news. Scroll down to see how Jeremy and Tori’s latest date went and share your thoughts in the comments, Pandas. You can read our earlier post about Jeremy and Tori’s love story right here. We were interested to know if Jeremy already had an inflatable plastic bubble or if he bought it for the occasion. “I was thinking about buying one because I thought it could be a way to make people smile walking around the city during quarantine while also being safe, but I couldn’t find any online. Then my artist friend, Pablo Rochat, posted a link to one in his story (I think as a joke). I couldn’t believe he found an actual link to buy one, so I immediately purchased it. Then I met Tori and I think it was right before our first date, it arrived in the mail and I realized it would make for a perfect second date.”
Jeremy said that the “bubble date” with Tori was a lot of fun. “We didn’t have much conversation since it was difficult to hear each other since I was in a bubble, but we laughed the whole time we walked in the neighborhood together.”
“Everyone outside had to do a double-take at us—it would be a combination of bewildering and jovial looks. It gave people something to laugh and smile at during the pandemic lockdown. As we walked down the streets, people were even watching and taking videos out of their windows. Hopefully, some people copy me! I’d be flattered—it’s safe, fun, and it gives people a reason to smile which is what we could use a little more of now,” he told Bored Panda.

In a previous interview with Bored Panda, Jeremy told us more about how he asked Tori out and gave us some dating tips. “I actually haven’t been on a date in at least a year. I think I was just craving some social interaction, and being confined by the walls of my apartment inspired some creativity for me,” he said.
“I’m all cooped up in my apartment alone, so its definitely different than my normal life of being out and about all the time (there’s so much to do in NYC!) For now, I’m taking it day by day,” he revealed what it’s like living during quarantine in New York. One day, he looked out the window and saw a girl, Tori, dancing on her roof. “I needed to say ‘Hi’ to her.”
“So I waved to her on my balcony and she waved back. I grabbed my tape, pen, drone, and paper. Then I wrote down my digits and sealed them on my drone. Flirting is normally daunting for me, but since I’ve been quarantined in my apartment for a week now, I was screaming for social interaction.”

Jeremy said that 2020 has been off to a terrible start, but he decided to take a risk either way. “She picked up my drone and I guess it worked because I got a text from her an hour later.”
“I still can’t believe this happened the other day. Now it’s time for part two. I asked her out for dinner, but she said ‘How?’ I sneakily coordinated with her roommate earlier to set it up,” Jeremy told us about how he organized the long-distance rooftop dinner date.
“5 PM hits. It was time for our date. Wait, where is she? Just kidding. We follow the rules. I waved down at the balcony, she waved back. I told her she looked beautiful. So we got on FaceTime and ate our matching organic, microwaved single dinners together.”
…and here’s part 2!

According to the photographer, the date went well and he joked that he might be in a long-distance relationship with “someone who lives across the street from me,” depending on how long the quarantine in New York will last.
Jeremy told us that there was a lot of pressure for their second date because of how many people were watching. However, he said that he can handle it. Jeremy had told us that he had something special planned for his real-life date with Tori. And now we all know that the surprise was him showing up in a plastic bubble!
And here’s part 3 in case you missed it or want to watch it again

But how did Jeremy’s sudden shot to fame affect him? “In a positive way! It makes me feel good to know people are rooting for me, but more importantly, it gives something for people to believe in during these strange and dark times. If this story brings joy to people, then it brings joy to me.”
“I don’t think I would have been capable of doing any of this without my mom, Eva Grayzel, who taught me the power of storytelling. She’s a motivational speaker, storyteller, and stage 4 cancer survivor. Without her, I don’t think I would have my optimistic outlook on life to do things like this in times like this,” he said.
He's a keeper. They're definitely going to have some good stories to tell their kids.
