I love that she acted that way, trying to split the bill and asking the same as him. We really need to stop puting this high expectations in men to be the providers, the think that they need to have money (or pretend that they have it) in order to impress women.

This whole article is uplifting. And a LOT could be learned by the way it all unfolded. I wish more people acted the way the cast of this story did, from the young couple, to the waiter & manager, all the way to the person who wrote the events. And yes even to the person who shared this uplifting moment here on Bored Panda. We NEED more of this!

unfortunately, ive also witnessed people who are just entitled customers that demand/wait for free stuff from restaurants... Pretty awful.. So it's understandable if it doesn't happen every day.

I remember my 1st date with my husband (16 years now!) and it must have been SO OBVIOUS because the waitress was just beaming at us with a twinkle in her eye, she knew! I was 35 and my to-be husband was 46. Even at that age, you can still fall in love so hard it's as if you are really 2 teenagers head over heels, and everyone knows it. What a great feeling! What a great story!!

Many years ago when I was a waiter I still recall a young couple on their first date, she in a nice dress and he in a nice ironed white shirt. And then he ordered the BBQ beef sandwich... the sloppiest item on the menu. I okayed it with the owner before going back to their table to lie and report that we had just run out. I knew he'd never know the bullet he'd dodged but I'm still convinced I did the right thing.
