Why tf didn't he address the harassment more forcefully the FIRST - or second, for god's sake- more forcefully? Communicating to his daughter it's better not to address it but go a completely different route. What if Steve hadn't been embezzling? Then what would the dad have done? Only half a hero in my book. Different stories and certainly different morals to each. 1. Theft is theft and should be reported whether or not the thieves are nice or not. Be an adult and put your name on it. In a small town everyone knows anyway. To only do it out of revenge and anonymously, smacks of cowardice. Especially if later, you publish it and are looking for praise. 2. Slapping kids on the butt is part of sports. (A stupid part but, yes, a part if done equally to all). Despite that, if you didn't want it done, yes, speak to him AND report it to Child Services. If he does it again, you walk over calmly and punch him in the face and hold him for police. Everyone WILL notice that and then when the story is told, everyone will know. If the government services who are supposed to protect the children do not, YOU may do so because of their failure. You either stand up for your family or not. Especially little kids. 3.Revenge is NEVER brilliant. Just do what is right because it is right and do it and move on.

well the phrase that refer to catching them "in an inappropriate moment," implies the girl was mutually participating. we've got to watch our language. the way we use it, implicitly disguises the responsibility of the predator and vents it on the victim. it should read..."when the coach was caught inappropriately touching his daughter....." call it what it is...don't try to disguise it.

Yeah that coach was a creep and you did the right thing. I played baseball from the age 5-16, male... but still, we got fist bumps, we got high fives... got the odd smack upside the back of the head, never had my a*s slapped that's for sure, and I would have broken that person's knees with my bat if they did. Unless it's a parent, that sort of behaviour is NEVER appropriate with a child.

Girls (all kids actually) need teaching that is never ok for someone to touch them in a way they don't like and it never ok for an adult to touch children in certain ways including this one. That would have been better taught preventing 'Steve' access to further access to teenage girls after the first slap.

Again...most charities are regulated through a state government agency in which would conduct their own investigation on the embezzlement or fraud. It would be up to the Attorney General of that state to pursue the actiin, not the FBI. As far as the butt slapping, that would be local law enforcement. Didnt read mention of that. NOBODY should touch ANYONE with out their concent. I don’t care if it’s sports or not. We live in a different time. Weather you agree with the way it’s changing or not, the fact still remains that it’s different now then it was. People, especially the young ones, are more sensitive then the people in the past. What if the male coach was gay and coached little league boys baseball. I’d rather have a gay male coach who wasn’t a child molester than a heterosexual male coach who was a sex offender. Unfortunately most people in the USA would rather have the “strait” coach who has multiple sexual accusations against him involving children then the guy who has never had any accusations. Unless the parents actually see, and are present for, when their kids get molested than they won’t believe it.

I'm shocked you didn't deck the guy right on the spot. So what does the town think of Steve and his family now? I say if he EVER comes even close to any of your daughters the guy needs he block knocked off. YOU be that protective dad and don't stop when she turns 18 or gets out of college or even turns 56 years old. I turned 56 this June. My family help each other with our rentals. Just a few weeks ago my dad asked me to reverse my decision about doing something for a tenant that has rented from my family at least 35 years or so. Used to be a great aunt. These tenants were FURIOUS were my great aunt didn't leave them the property they were living in, right NEXT door to our "homeplace", where I am now living. They sucked up to her SO badly. I thought it was hysterical it was ME watching the new color TV they gave her at Christmas the year before she died. My dad learned they've been spreading vicious gossip about me. At 56 with a 77 year old dad it still feels good he has my back.

the coach is fine, the dad is toooo sensitive. he ruined a man's life all because of normal sport stuff.
