People Can’t Get Enough Of This Dad Matching His Ties With Face Masks Daily

The rule of thumb says that dads’ sense of fashion moves in mysterious ways. Socks and sandals combined with lightyears-old cargo shorts—we know it’s your fave and everyone wears it too, but that doesn’t mean it looks good. And due to the pandemic, dad’s wardrobe department has been undergoing even more severe maintenance.
So take notes for your dads, ‘cause this pandemic-approved fashion tip may surely come in handy. Steve Montgomery from San Antonio, Texas has been rocking flawlessly coordinated looks by matching his ties to his face masks. And this spark of inspiration didn’t come out of nowhere! “I’m known for matching, and I criticize people at work for not matching, so I really wanted to make this happen,” Steve said.
And he sure did. After his daughter Kiana Montgomery tweeted his picture with the caption “Dad….. whyyyyy,” it went viral in an instant. With 676.6K likes and 82.9K retweets and comments, Steve has caused a real stir. Yet, when Kiana told him his photos were going viral, Steve was like “what does that even mean,” which basically shows he stays a dad, no matter what.

Bored Panda contacted Steve’s daughter Kiana Montgomery, who posted the viral tweet of her dad wearing a matching face mask and tie outfit. She said she was still in disbelief at how many people retweeted her post, but wasn’t “surprised that people loved it, though it really was a great idea.”
Kiana said that the idea to match masks with ties came about when her dad realized his extra pocket squares could be of use. “He had extra pocket squares and thought why not make these as a mask.”Dad Steve thought that people wearing face masks looked very generic and he didn’t want to look the same. And he surely stood out!

His daughter said that dressing nicely really matters to her dad, and he even “always says something if you weren’t matching.”
Part of the credit for the colorful pandemic-proof outfits should be attributed to Steve’s girlfriend, who is actually the one who sews the masks together. Kiara laughed that he “just models them,” and he surely does a very good job!
Steve now owns 15 face masks, but his girlfriend is in the process of sewing more of them. Plus, he never wears the same mask and tie combination more than once per week, which helps him to stay on top of his pandemic-proof outfit game.
