This Dad Makes Disney-Inspired Dresses For His Kids And They Look Too Good To Be Real
Meet Nephi Garcia – a 32-year-old California-based designer daddy who makes the most amazing Disney-inspired costumes for his kids!
It all started when Nephi’s family was planning a trip to Disney World and his 6-year-old daughter Lili asked for a costume to wear to the park. Unlike any other dad who would simply go to the costume store, Nephi hand-made a stunning Fairy Godmother costume for her. It turned out so good, that it caught other parents’ eyes and now Nephi designs these stunning Disney-inspired (sometimes 20th Century Fox-inspired) costumes for a living. From Snow White to Belle – he’s designed them all! You can buy these stunning costumes on his website or Etsy.

On my daughter's 6th birthday, I threw her a princess party. The cake was c**p because it was so hot that day that icing melted. But scored about 10 yards of dark blue satin at Walmart for $1 a yard and made princess gowns for all the guests. I used a simple nightgown pattern that had a diamond stitched bodice and I replace the sleeves with a schmancy Rennaisance gown pattern and used gold trim in between the upper arm "poofs". I sewed a panel of lace down the front and more gold trim on the side to gussy it up. And glued rhinestones in the corners of the diamond stitches. I made a total of 8 gowns. I also made pointed princess hats. The girls were thrilled and delighted to find out they could take their gowns home with them. Last time I did anything like that again. It was a lot of work. Took months of preparation. To fill my daughter's "princess armoire" I bought discounted halloween princess gowns after that. A lot easier, got great deals too.
