Bored Panda reached out to Gergely to ask him some fresh questions about his comic series. We were curious about which specific elements the cartoonist considers most effective in creating humor in his work. Here’s what he shared with us: “Relatable and self-aware comics are always very funny. I enjoy turning small daily struggles into comics: I hope they make it a tiny bit easier for others to deal with them. Seeing my most common character, the Bear, in a relatable situation might give the feeling of not being alone in it.”
The creator of Dudolf also added: “I also enjoy giving the strips unexpected or overdramatized elements.”
When asked about his process for creating characters that match the tone of his comics, Dudás explained: “I always try to keep my characters as simple as possible. The Bear and the Duck are my two favorite animals to draw, they look very simple, making them so relatable, I believe.”
The cartoonist shared that his goal is to make people laugh and added that he would like to publish more books featuring his work.
Hey, it’s worth a try. I never say anything that might anger our future robot overlords
Gergely also shared more details about some upcoming projects he’s currently working on: “I am super excited about my upcoming book, hitting the shelves on April 1. It's called ‘Piggle the Pig: The Perfect Pigsty’. It is funny, relatable, and also heartwarming. It is a children's book, but I'm sure adults will love it too. I can't wait to see the reactions it will get.”
