Illustrator Shows What Would Happen If Disney Princesses Had Curly Hair, And The Consequences Are Hilarious
Living with wild, untamable curly hair is a reality so many of us face here in the physical world. In the Disney princess world, however, it seems that all women are blessed with sleek, straight, or wavy hair that always falls into place. Indian comic artist and proud curly hair-owner Angela Mary Vaz is using her creative ideas, and plenty of humor, to redraw Disney's most beloved princesses with full heads of spiraling tresses - and the bumps in their 'love stories' that occur as a result.
Vaz is the author of Stray Curls, an Instagram blog that documents her own funny problems caused by her unruly mane. The 'Curly Princess' cartoon drawings saga started with a drawing of Rapunzel struggling to let down her bunched-up hair (her straightener died; we've all been there) back in September, and since her fans just couldn't get over how much they related to this Disney character's misfortune, she kept going with the cute drawings until every one of the pretty princesses from the Magic Kingdom had steel wool coming out of their scalps.

Wait ! She could tie her hair to something there and do bungee jumping now !😂😂😂😂
Do you know what is worse that curly hair? Fine and thin curly hair! (weeping by the computer right now)
So, my hair is kinda weird. It's both curly and straight and not in a pretty sexy way. Just individual hairs are curly so it knots around my straight hair and makes horrible knots, I remember in school this girl wanted to brush my hair and I let her but she ended up hurting her back. When you run your fingers through it you can feel it knotting around your fingers like it sentient.
I do not have curly hair, but I think curly hair is lovely. Is the issue that it is difficult to care for?
I don't have curly hair, this was amusing. But I do have thick hair & that can be problematic as well
Fiona is NOT a Disney character - and neither is Jack Frost. Yes, most of these characters might be Disney but since there are non-Disney characters are in this the title should read "Famous Animated Princesses" instead of Disney Princesses.
Like if you was hoping for a bonus illustration showing Brave's Princess Merida with straight hair
Throughout my life, I've been called Marc Bolan, Heidi, Crystal Tips, Kate Bush, Hucknall, you name it. If children can think of a spiteful name, they are very inventive! My hair is super curly and very thick. The only brush I can use is a large headed boars bristle one . I'm quite tired of people who say that it must be lovely having curly hair. If you've got curly hair, you've got curly hair. You can't style it unless it's mercilessly straightened. You can only wash it once a week. You have to buy expensive products to alleviate the frizz. Twenty minutes after brushing it, (which makes you look like Brian May on a bad hair day), it's sprung back to normal and is full of tangles again. Woe betide the man who likes to run his fingers through a girls hair - the fingers will get two thirds of the way through the flowing tresses, then stop as they hit where the curls have entwined to the point where they resemble an unwound 50 year old ball of wool, found in your Grannys attic!
As a curly girl this made me chuckle a little. But it kind of shows the creators lack of knowledge regarding the different types of curly hair. Still...I did chuckle.
