This Online Account Is Uncovering The Most Cringeworthy Content And Here Are 40 Of The Worst
Nowadays, it’s nearly impossible to be cringey on social media and not get called out for it. New internet social norms have introduced many ways to be humiliated, and suddenly cringe has become widespread. Snarky or out-of-touch comments can immediately earn you a spot on the “wall of shame” of cringe-worthy posts.
Something that makes us squirm with embarrassment just has its own appeal, doesn’t it? A Reddit community called “Cringe-worthy posts and replies from Twitter” purposely shares awkward content to make us uncomfortable. Below, we’ve gathered the most painful posts from them just to show how unbelievably cringe people can be.

Flawed Reasoning That’s All Too Common On Twitter
It reminds me of when I made all my car payments but the car dealership somehow still owned it and told me they needed it and took it so I had no car.
Cringe can bring up a physical response to embarrassing situations, which is totally normal. In the case of cringing, we are trying to “move away” from the topic or situation we’re so uncomfortable with. Hence, your shoulders are tensing and your face is scrunching, in hopes that it all goes away.
We feel this way because we compare ourselves to others, while simultaneously trying to decide what is socially acceptable. The awkwardness comes when we sense that people have assessed us negatively, and we start to worry whether we've made a mistake or behaved inappropriately. So when your high five gets ignored and you feel like you want to run and hide, that is why.

Why can’t we stop watching TV shows or scrolling through posts on social media that make us cringe? It may be a way to cleanse ourselves from repressed emotions. Watching cringe-worthy media can bring out a range of feelings, including empathy, sympathy, and delight for failure. It can also be considered a shared social experience that encourages conversation and creates a sense of community and belonging. The element of surprise engages people and keeps them curious for more. Overall, cringe taps into our need for catharsis, social connection, and the unexpected, making it alluring and captivating.

The earlier cringe culture of the 2000s was about second-hand shame and empathy, which inspired a whole genre of comedy that mostly comes from putting characters through the most embarrassing situations possible or having them say the most embarrassing or offensive things imaginable. Cringe comedy often uses a documentary feel to make it more natural and increase the awkwardness factor. Additionally, the characters might not be aware of the embarrassment they should be feeling, making you watch these shows through your fingers.

I mean, it isn't universal because this is a typically US American thing that no one else eats.
Except it’s all I ate in school as a kid. Signed, a Canadian.
Load More Replies...Peanut butter doesn't even exist in my country, I have no idea how it tastes, yet I am not offended. How thin skinned do you have to be?
I hope this is satire and jabbing at all the Karen's who do this, but knowing Twitter, probably not...
Can we take a minute to appreciate that this guy is called cumstein and bp censors see nothing wrong?
Pretty sad when you can't even post a picture of a goddamn sandwich without offending someone.
Ok. Peanuts are not nuts. They are legumes. Why are they causing the same allergic reactions as real nuts such as Cashews, almonds, etc.? Just seems weird to me.
They don't always. You can be allergic to one and not the other, though I think they're often comorbid.
Load More Replies...I’m lactose intolerant—the World should BAN ALL MILK, CHEESE, DAIRY pictures because of that!!😂
It is so insensitive that u r sending that comment in English like u think everyone speaks English!
Not a normal sandwich option in the UK when I was growing up, but I can recommend it with chili jam if you like satay.
I think everyone is missing the point here, a person posted a photo of a p&b sandwich basically stating it evoked childhood memories for him/her, and some overly sensitive, self absorbed, individual made it about offending people. The poster is not forcing a p&b sandwich on anyone or even suggesting it's a "universal experience". It's a sad world when posting a photo of a sandwich creates a need for protest. Frankly, if a picture of p&b sandwich is the only thing you have to get upset about you are one lucky person.
Well, get a grip. PB&J *were* universal in my generation in the US. Peanut allergies were unknown at the time and gluten intolerance is a consequence of eating a toxic diet. Please don't give me any post-modern BS because my experience was different from what yours is now. Oh, and I still eat these on a regular basis.
Not to be pedantic and this is clearly not the point at all, but the OP ISN'T claiming it as a universal experience. They're asking who remembers it. It be wild to ask that question about a true universal. "Who remembers breathing?" Second poster sees bug, I see feature. What a great starting point for a conversation. If you have a gluten intolerance or a peanut allergy, tell us what your pb&j equivalent was! Let's swap stories! What's the go to in a vegan house? Or in China? Did you have a quirky mom who always cut your sandwiches into art? Maybe the whole point was to ask about something that wasn't universal for the express purpose of sharing stories to expand our world views and become MORE sensitive. ....probably it was just an easy to make nostalgia post to farm some internet points, but there's no need to assume the worst of people.
I would like to introduce gluten free bread and almond butter. What’s next, allergic to jelly?
World, we gave you Bugs Bunny and Duke Ellington, and yes, PBJ. Take it
I want a PB&J now. Washed down with coffee because I'm lactose intolerant
Tbf, the question just asks "who remembers eating these?" It doesn't imply anything about where anyone is from or what allergies someone has. It's just asking who remembers. People with allergies would remember NOT eating these. People from non PB & J eating countries (you poor souls) don't have memories of eating these. Mitch Cumstein @mustachetoilet asked a fair question.
The only person who implied that pbj is universal is the bïtch äss who retweeted it. What a POS.
"Universal experience" and "good for everybody" are not the same thing.
Ah Yes, The Solution To Racism Is Segregation
As cringe advanced, the desire to make fun of fictional characters transferred to real life. In 2012, the first Reddit cringe forum started to share content that was described as hard to watch and embarrassing. From that point on, social media became a place for cringe to blossom. Wearing crocs? Cringe! Your boyfriend misses the basketball hoop by… a lot. Cringe!
Recently, the TikTok trend “new ick unlocked” started mocking people’s awkward and weird activities. Surprisingly, ordering a Frappuccino or swimming in goggles can now be considered bizarre or icky. Such resurging trends show how cringe-dependent our culture truly is.

Many people fear shame and embarrassment, so the question is: can we avoid it? The short answer is no, not really. Everyone is prone to making mistakes or doing something silly in a social setting. However, there are some ways you can minimize your chances of becoming cringe-worthy. Staying true to yourself, avoiding trying too hard to impress others, and being aware of your social context might help you achieve this. Practicing social skills, avoiding offensive humor, and respecting other people’s boundaries is also a great way to eliminate the awkwardness.

Why Do They Hate Straight People
Recently, the mindset of “I am cringe, but I am free” has appeared to counteract the constraints that cringe culture puts on people. While receiving her honorary degree, Taylor Swift told the graduates that they should learn to live alongside cringe. She continued by saying that it’s impossible to carry all the negative things in life, and it’s we who decide what to hold onto and what to let go. For the sake of our emotional well-being, we need to embrace ourselves and understand that it’s okay to feel uncomfortable. Cringe will always happen, and when it does, don’t worry, and try not to dwell on it too much.

Which party is cringe/toxic depends on whether the problem is actual disabilty or incontinence, or someone choosing not to get up and go to the bathroom. If this is OP refusing to use the loo because they'd have to pause their computer game, or because they have a kink for peeing in a diaper in front of their family, then I'm on mums side.

She's just a racist. Saying a language was "invented" is nonsense though. Languages grow organically. No one invents them unless it's literally a constructed language like Klingon or Elvish.
