the thing that really annoys me about this story: calling a pizza place and ordering an SOS pizza is STUPID, unless that pizza place has a known policy about responding to SOS's (like some bars have policies where you can order an "Angel Cocktail", and that tells the bartender that you're afraid of something about your date, and need help).... The thing is, in a bar, that kind of code makes real sense. But in a pizza place, NO. Instead, what people in danger ACTUALLY do in those situations, is call the COPS, and PRETEND to order a pizza, so that someone with some real ability to help, learns that someone is in trouble, and can obliquely ask questions with yes/no answers, or prompt the person to answer using pizza toppings as codes: "if they have a gun, tell me you want green peppers... Is there more than one person/Are you in a safe location/ etc etc... This SOS story is nicely dramatic, but if it happened in real life, it wouldn't go down like that.
