I like to expand the negative space of images. I like to find shapes where there are none really present, outside of squinting your eyes, or closing one eye and turning your head to one side. I am quite sure it is what we’ve been doing forever. It is why there are constellations in the sky. And why I disagree with many of them.
There is always a graceful curve, there is always a silhouette of a face, a dancing girl, a seductive matron. When I need to read maps, I still usually get lost. Because instead of being on the highway, I get lost in the puddles of lakes or mountain ranges. I am always looking for alternative stories, or imagining how a story would continue.
