A sense of entitlement is a personality characteristic that's not exclusive to spoiled kids. The belief that you deserve special treatment or recognition for something you haven't earned can be quite universal.
And the subreddit which we will call 'Entitled Batch' can prove it — this online community is dedicated to shaming people who think they can always get their own way and are better than everyone else.
The moderators, however, point out in its 'About' section that the sub "in no way intends to spread hate or abuse or to offend any party, it was created for story sharing and entertainment."
Since its inception in December 2018, it has amassed quite the collection. Here are some of the most popular posts that have appeared on the sub since our last publication on it.

What’s Wrong With Applebee’s?
I'll Be Here For The Rest Of The Day
If a person isn't behaving as badly as these folks and you aren't sure whether they might have a sense of entitlement, experts suggest going through the following characteristics and seeing if they apply:
- People with a sense of entitlement expect to get preferential treatment and special favors in life, without regard for why they should be treated specially. They assume "the world owes me." For instance, they might feel that the policies of an organization should not apply to them because they should be treated with special favors.
- Regardless of what they have, they strongly believe that they deserve more. They expect to elevate their lifestyle above that of others without putting in the effort needed to do so.

- When they reach a certain level of success, they feel that everyone should bend over backward to help them. If someone has a problem with them or does not agree with what they are doing, they will try to make the other party feel as if they are wrong and that it is a horrible thing to disagree with them.
- Their personal needs come before everyone else's needs. They believe that it is your job to ensure they have everything they need, even if this means that you have to sacrifice taking care of yourself.

- They're very dramatic when something does not go their way. In these cases, they might try to make themselves look better by bringing you down.
- They are not grateful for what they have in their life. A person with a sense of entitlement may not say thank you or show other signs of appreciation for what they have. This is because they believe it is their right to have everything, so they don't value anything.

Oh My
I Guess She Got The Answer
Well when common sense goes out the window, there's always Twitter polls.
- A sense of entitlement tends to be spread across their entire life. Someone who acts this way about one thing is likely to act the same way in other situations as well. They may be greedy or will take friends for granted instead of being appreciative.
- They act like victims and blame other people or outside forces for their problems. Again, someone with this attitude believes the world owes them and that other people are responsible for making their lives better.
But if you read through the list and remain unsure, look them up on the subreddit 'Entitled Batch'. If they're not here, maybe they aren't that bad, eh?

Another one of those Karen’s who will travel overseas and demand that everyone else speak English.
Load More Replies...I've always wondered why speaking another language is so offending to some Americans. Reminds me of some nutjob religious fundamentalists.
Xenophobia. They think that a "real" patriot (of whatever country) must speak only one language, theirs.
Load More Replies...In a lot of high schools you have to learn a new language to be able to graduate in America. She’s going to have fun.
"learn"... most people just take languages to graduate. but good point
Load More Replies...Oh shock and horror! The little ones may actually learn about the fact that there are other countries and (shudder) other languages spoken in the world!
I'm from England and as I understand it in America they speak English, surely Americas language is actually some native American language?
Well technically, yes, it should be. Native Americans aside, the rest are all immigrants from all over the world, so Spanish, German, French or even Chinese (to name just a few) would all be perfectly acceptable.
Load More Replies...Now besides the crazy of this lady, and there being -10 wrong with learning a different language, I would question the use of a different language in speech therapy though. Being vastly different languages in so many ways. But really, the if he's "done fine" speaking English, why is he at the speech therapist, ma'am?
I was born with a malformed palette, was tongue-tied and am autistic. I took 10 years of speech therapy. When I was older I really wanted to take Spanish lessons in school. Since I grew up in Florida, it really helped me with my confidence - and I was able to get a part-time job where I'd need to speak the language. Personally, I wanted to do what the other kids did and fit in. It was difficult enough taking my speech classes but taking another language added to this - and pushed me out of my comfort zone. I was selected to say a poem in spanish for a school event. I never felt more proud of myself. And my nickname in school (not one I wanted) was .. mumbles. After that event .. the nickname slowly died down.
Load More Replies...O... M... G... "We talk 'Murican in our house!" What a sad way to go through life. There are terrific benefits for the development in children's brains learning a second language. I feel sorry for the kid.
"This country's language"?!?! Excuse me, about 13% of the people here speak Spanish! That's more than 43 million people!
Especially here in Texas. It's certainly not something to look down on someone for. I admire anyone who can speak two or more languages.
Load More Replies...In their slight defence, if the kids is in speech lessons, it would suggest that they're struggling, at which point getting them sorted with English should be a priority, not adding Spanish to the mix
Please be sure to stop using the following words: patio, cafeteria, barbecue, gusto, aficionado, macho, Sierra, Chili con carne, amigo, bonanza, bronco, buckaroo, desperado, guacamole, lasso, loco, poncho, pronto, renegade, rodeo, salsa, tapioca, tequila, and vigilante. I'm sure there are more.
EXACTLY!!! But how will I ever order food at my favorite Mexican/Italian/Chinese/Ethiopian, etc restaurant??? Guess it's grilled cheese sandwich from now on!!!
Load More Replies...If you called her that to her face she would probably say thank you. Lol!
Load More Replies...I would just continue to teach the kid Spanish. What is she going to do?
Can people from the states stop calling the country america, its so annoying, there is 35 countries in america for them to take the name. Imagine if randomly UK start calling themselves Europe.
Just a note--America has no official language....that's one of the things that makes it great....."different" is what this country was founded on.....
Never mind the fact that being fluent in Spanish is fast becoming a job skill requirement.
Well, what kind of mama Karen is she??? Hopefully one day, he will take Spanish become fluent and bring home the love of his life, and she will Be Spanish speaking!
WOW. So what is he supposed to call a taco, or a burrito, or God forbid - an enchilada?
so, now, speaking Spanish is inappropriate? defining this "ma'am" a Karen is too offensive also for Karen concept itself.
Spanish is a beautiful language. If I had such an encouraging teacher teaching me Spanish, I would be very happy!
Well, I can understand this if the educator was anything BUT a Spanish teacher. Stay in your teaching lane.
There is no official language in the US. In fact, when the Continental Congress first met, and they voted to use English in their meetings, it only won by one vote.
It's called "education", some of that stuff which you clearly never been exposed to....
That would have more impact if the United States of America did, indeed, have a national language. We do not. And I will repeat, this mama's red neck is showing.
What do you call a person who can speak 4 or more languages? European or polyglot. Three or more? Tri-lingual Two? bilingual. Only one and sometimes not even fluent? American.
A Native American should tell this Karen she and her child should learn the language of the tribe(s) that were on her land long before she was born.
Can you say rude , crude, ignorant and ungrateful in any language? I would have loved the opportunity to learn several languages.
Tee Witt... it's rather ironic because even before the white man invaded this land there was no one language. Some collective nations and tribes spoke a common language as in the 6 nation Iroquois League or the Algonquian tribes. To say this country has only one language considering how many countries the peoples of this country have come from just is absurd.
some ppl just dont understand knowing multiple languages can actually help u in life
Knowing a second (or third) language could mean a better job or extra pay. This skill could be extremely beneficial in his future.
We wouldn't want our kids to learn another language. Only English for this American. Funny that it's named after another country though.
My son has no education, and we would like to keep it like that. It´s our families way.
This country doesn't have an official language, and the number of people who don't know is, unfortunately, not surprising.
I've leaned English for what? I speak Portuguese (the weird Spanish)
typical american... and those moron goes oversea and complain when they go to another country that they don't speak english. everyone in Europe speak more than one language. I wish we were force to learn more than one language. we have to fight here to let our kid to learn english
No, this is NOT a "typical American". This person represents the minority of people here, not the majority.

No, actually, no. Because these are prime examples of how we all are very much the same and just live in our own bubble. And it's good for people that live in very mediocre bubbles to see that other bubbles exist that are a whole lot different (and a lot less prevalent we hope). Just because it is not to your comfort, doesn't mean it can't actually grow your own sense of empathy towards others. And if it's too much. Skip it. But I can assure you there's a reason you didn't. These are wonderful examples to see how "most" people react to situations like these and how people that act like that are the ones to stand out from the masses. You are looking for confirmation and you got it.

Waiting at the dealership for my car service, sitting reading a magazine. I guess I "thought" people knew that a magazine, open and face-down in the chair means that I've gone to the restroom. ..more and more BP articles are negative.. what happened to the uplifting ?.. every article now is about someone calling someone else out for shameful behavior.. this article is about a bride who had a fight.. who's right?.. sigh
You chose to read this, there are still plenty of feel good articles on BP but you have gone out of your way to read something you don't like in order to post a negative comment. You are 100% what this article was about. Grow up and take some responsibility.
