A sense of entitlement is a personality characteristic that's not exclusive to spoiled kids. The belief that you deserve special treatment or recognition for something you haven't earned can be quite universal.
And the subreddit which we will call 'Entitled Batch' can prove it — this online community is dedicated to shaming people who think they can always get their own way and are better than everyone else.
The moderators, however, point out in its 'About' section that the sub "in no way intends to spread hate or abuse or to offend any party, it was created for story sharing and entertainment."
Since its inception in December 2018, it has amassed quite the collection. Here are some of the most popular posts that have appeared on the sub since our last publication on it.

What’s Wrong With Applebee’s?
Maybe , this was a test for you you braggart he wanted to know what type of woman you were. I hope he thanked you for showing your true colors!
Load More Replies...In my opinion it's good to chose a not very expensive place for a first date. If it goes bad, nobody feel like tjey invested too much and wasted their money or feel guilty for not commiting to a second date because the other person chose to spend much money.
For a first date, never a dinner.... Just a meetup - coffee and chat time, so as you say, move on fast if the person is not of your liking.
Load More Replies...Applebee's is awful. I wouldn't want to go there on a first date, but I wouldn't mind some other nonexpensive place. Buy me street tacos, and I'll be a happy girl.
Load More Replies...My partner took me to Pizza Hut for a first date. I loved it. We enjoyed each other's company and getting to know each other and building a relationship, which is more important than what someone earns or going to a fancy restaurant.
Our first date was a movie and dinner at a burger place, not fast food but not fancy. Turned out good for us too
Load More Replies...I fear your egos cup over has overflowed! I eat out with friends who could buy half the State of California, we have eaten at many chain restaurants. My friends are not hyper wealthy snobs, they are just hyper wealthy down to earth wonderful people who don’t have their egos tied up to their wealth. I love them for it
Heard a story of a guy's sister who did this, Turned out the guy she turned down was very well off and used this a test to weed out the gold diggers.
How does he know he's not weeding out nice people who just don't like Applebee's?
Load More Replies...How dumb is it that they couldn't even discuss and decide together where to go? Why is she asking where he is "taking" her?
Curiosity and, by the sound of it, so she can also judge the guy by the choice of resto and the kind of evening they'll have.
Load More Replies...I know plenty of people that can afford really nice restaurants but they prefer to go to places like Applebee's because they like the food, the staff or it brings back nostalgia for them. Don't forget, in Fergie's song "Glamorous" she still goes to Taco Bell and she's got money to burn.....
I dated an older rich guy, like owned a house ocean front. Dated him for two years. Rich guys, at least old money, will be the first to take you to an Applebee's.
TBF, Applebee's is not good food. Support a delicious local spot instead. Dodged a bullet.
Laughing at the type that thinks "having a man" is the be-all end-all. Good lordt. A man, any man? If a man isn't trying to impress you on a date, then that man isn't worth your time anyhow. Also, doctors and restaurant owners aren't taking their dates to Applebees. Not the doctors and restaurant owners trying to impress their dates, that is. Sad to think the bar has been so lowered that people don't understand romance or dating anymore. Don't fall for it, ladies! A man who is truly interested in you is truly interested in impressing you, and unless you're still in high school, Applebees isn't it.
Thank. Youuu. They keep expecting women to settle for less and accept less. Rubbish.
Load More Replies...Why would anyone treat someone like this? Does not sound like she is worth more than anything.
Maybe he was just trying to have a casual dinner to determine if she was worthy of an expensive dinner. He dodged a bullet
Huge applause for the reply, in fact, standing ovation for the reply.
What no Tesla? They did welcome BMW owners at Applebee's last time I checked.
I'm honestly glad she walked away, that man doesn't need someone like that in his life if she's 'too good for Applebee's.'
And the stupid biotch is in debt up to her head. She "owns" nothing. He dodged a bullet
And the dumb ass bitch is in debt up to her head. She "owns" NOTHING. lol
Have to agree with the clapback. She was unnecessarily harsh based on her assumptions. Too good for Applebee's, but not a good person.
She lost the opportunity to do the tiktok dance in front of Applebee’s! 🤣 “Fancy like Applebee’s on date night …”
It sounds to me like you are looking for someone to buy you an expensive meal with all that money that you have!
I don't understand this new shallow mentality that is suddenly celebrated. Do you want a man who loves you or a personal ATM? So a man's love can only be measured in what he can buy you? Love has become such a fickle thing nowadays.
When will people realize that money, intelligence, and status are not what matters? To many people look down on other's because they're uneducated, poor, and don't care to gain materialistically. We are all worthy of being treated right, humane, and with decency and dignity. From the Ceo to the homeless man or woman. We all have needs that should be met in this world. But most importantly, we all are just trying to exist and be treated well. It's just sad that we live in a society that glorifies status, looks, and money. We treat our own kind so horrifically and it has got to stop!
What a loser. You think a man has to take you somewhere special and expensive on a first date or else he's worthless. You totally miss the point of dating. That's getting to know each other. Even a walk on the beach can be a wonderful date with the right person. He TOTALLY dodged a bullet.
I went to a lot of chain restaurants with my significant other when we first started dating. Our first date was hiking in a park so that was free. It’s whatever really. We had normal amounts of money then so we went to normal places. We have more money now, and we probably eat at cheaper places. I always liked Applebee’s when I ate meat. I wouldn’t choose to go on my first date there but that’s mainly because the atmosphere is bad. I think dinner is a boring idea for a first date. It should be an activity or a coffee shop, lunch bistro or drinks at a cool bar. So I can see why she’d turn him down but not because of cost. If you want to have high standards and a rich partner you have to be in those places and run in those circles. Sounds like she doesn’t. A house and a BMW are normal, average things. Nice things but still normal.
I profoundly dislike chain restaurants, and Applebee makes me cringe, but this entitled post is far cringier. I think they both dodged a bullet, the guy's was a larger caliber.
Wow, this is....*looking for a word*....I really can't find one to describe this.
I hope you get put in the stocks every time you're an arrogant bitch.
Applebees isnt bad, if someone asked me to mcdonalds i would except with excitement.
You sound like a stuck up bitch who definitely needs an enema!
I feel so bad for this guy. I've been out with people who can barely afford McDonald's but who insist on paying. This is such a thrill and happy thing for them. Even if it's the cheapest thing on the menu. this means a lot to them. How can you be such an ass you take that away from a person?
You can keep your standards high and not be a bitch. Applebee's has good drinks but the food sucks IMO. If it was a man who had some what she did in sure she would've responded in horror. Owning a house a business and some stocks is great. She flexd about a BMW? My daughters 19 yr bf has 3 and he works at a grocery store! If she could buy Applebee's she could afford to drive something muxh better
Your daughter's 19yo boyfriend works at a grocery store and has 3 BMWs... you forgot to add the backstory to that, like they're all used or his parents bought them. I'm certain her implication was that she had a new BMW, and you can't buy 3 new BMWs with grocery store pay, especially if you have any responsibility whatsoever. I used to work at a grocery store, and the pay is crap. Don't mislead people.

If a person isn't behaving as badly as these folks and you aren't sure whether they might have a sense of entitlement, experts suggest going through the following characteristics and seeing if they apply:
- People with a sense of entitlement expect to get preferential treatment and special favors in life, without regard for why they should be treated specially. They assume "the world owes me." For instance, they might feel that the policies of an organization should not apply to them because they should be treated with special favors.
- Regardless of what they have, they strongly believe that they deserve more. They expect to elevate their lifestyle above that of others without putting in the effort needed to do so.

- When they reach a certain level of success, they feel that everyone should bend over backward to help them. If someone has a problem with them or does not agree with what they are doing, they will try to make the other party feel as if they are wrong and that it is a horrible thing to disagree with them.
- Their personal needs come before everyone else's needs. They believe that it is your job to ensure they have everything they need, even if this means that you have to sacrifice taking care of yourself.

- They're very dramatic when something does not go their way. In these cases, they might try to make themselves look better by bringing you down.
- They are not grateful for what they have in their life. A person with a sense of entitlement may not say thank you or show other signs of appreciation for what they have. This is because they believe it is their right to have everything, so they don't value anything.

I Guess She Got The Answer
Well when common sense goes out the window, there's always Twitter polls.
- A sense of entitlement tends to be spread across their entire life. Someone who acts this way about one thing is likely to act the same way in other situations as well. They may be greedy or will take friends for granted instead of being appreciative.
- They act like victims and blame other people or outside forces for their problems. Again, someone with this attitude believes the world owes them and that other people are responsible for making their lives better.
But if you read through the list and remain unsure, look them up on the subreddit 'Entitled Batch'. If they're not here, maybe they aren't that bad, eh?

No, actually, no. Because these are prime examples of how we all are very much the same and just live in our own bubble. And it's good for people that live in very mediocre bubbles to see that other bubbles exist that are a whole lot different (and a lot less prevalent we hope). Just because it is not to your comfort, doesn't mean it can't actually grow your own sense of empathy towards others. And if it's too much. Skip it. But I can assure you there's a reason you didn't. These are wonderful examples to see how "most" people react to situations like these and how people that act like that are the ones to stand out from the masses. You are looking for confirmation and you got it.

I am honestly not sure if there are more entitled people living now. Or is it we are more hyperconnected and can share this surreal existence in real time.
Waiting at the dealership for my car service, sitting reading a magazine. I guess I "thought" people knew that a magazine, open and face-down in the chair means that I've gone to the restroom. I come back, guy's sitting in the chair reading the exact article I had been reading. Yes, there were numerous other seats without open magazines in them. I realize I expect too much.
..more and more BP articles are negative.. what happened to the uplifting ?.. every article now is about someone calling someone else out for shameful behavior.. this article is about a bride who had a fight.. who's right?.. sigh
You chose to read this, there are still plenty of feel good articles on BP but you have gone out of your way to read something you don't like in order to post a negative comment. You are 100% what this article was about. Grow up and take some responsibility.
