We’re excited to introduce a new artist just beginning to unveil her wings in the comic world. Her series, ‘Asian and Redhead,’ draws inspiration from the everyday experiences she encounters in her own life. The short stories depicted in the strips highlight the diversity between Asia and the West. The cartoonist, who is married to an American man—the titular Redhead—describes some of the most common misconceptions and differences between both cultures.

When asked what inspired her to start creating her comic, Flora answered: “Being in a mixed couple (Asian and American) leads to lots of funny cultural differences and marriage couple memes.”

Here in Sweden I winder the heck the humans is thinking that can take away their McDonald's trash, but choose doesn't. Or even worse, those that throw it along the road, from the car.

We wanted to learn more about the recurring themes in her strip, and the artist kindly shared: “Another source of inspiration comes from my Western friends and their perspectives versus my own perceptions. My experience living in the US as an immigrant also highlights cultural differences.”

Flora continued, pointing out additional topics featured in her comics: “My husband’s experience living in Hong Kong and how he sees things differently.”
She also mentioned: “Travel stories—some travel memories from our one-year trip around South America, Europe, and a cruise.”

Finally, Flora shared her hope: “I aim to capture these stories and share them with others to evoke feelings of fun, relatability, and travel inspiration. I want to offer an Asian perspective and maybe make someone think, ‘Oh, I’ve felt that way before.’”

This one confuses me. Did OP think that the mother-in-law froze the leftovers to be mean and then OP froze MIL's candies in retaliation? Am I misunderstanding something? It seems like MIL froze the leftovers to keep them fresh and didn't know OP was going to come back and eat more later but OP doesn't do things that way so thought MIL was being rude and decided to freeze MIL's candies as "payback".
