Because they've been together six years, have a life together, and would have literally never known if not for a passing whim. It's alarming you can't see any nuance to that situation or recognize the very real struggle both these people are now faced with.

Maybe it's easy for people to judge because theyve never had someone they care about that they can relate to the situation. For me, I have been in a real relationship for seven years, he's the love of my life, and we also decided to never have kids. But if I found out we were related, I couldn't imagine giving up my soul mate today over that. But not everyone is lucky enough to have someone they love that much so I'd imagine it's just hard for them to relate.

Yes, heavens forbid we should be more tolerant towards others who are literally doing nothing to harm anyone else in the world. They are committed to not having children which is the only potential issue in that it might cause harm to the child. Christian here and I really HATE those bigoted over religious people who give the rest of us and Christianity as a whole a bad name. The first commandment is to love God and the second thy brethren. The only commandment Jesus gave to people was to love others as He has loved us. There was never a commandment where God needs people to judge and point on his behalf. I would like to point out that the KJV actually does say that, and KJV is the closest English translation to the original.

B******t. The king James version of the bible was completed in 1611 by just 8 members of the protestant church of England. There were (and still are) NO original texts to survive to translate from. The oldest manuscripts were written down hundreds of years after the last apostle died, from fables spread by mouth. There were around 8,000 of those manuscripts with no two remotely alike. Not that it mattered because the KJV translators used none of these anyway. Instead, they edited previous mistranslations to create a version that adhered to King James' personal Christian ideology because otherwise they would have been executed. So the KJV is a book edited in the 17th-century from 16th-century mistranslations of 8,000 contradictory copies of 4th-century scrolls that claim to be letters from the 1st century.

The OP and her boyfriend/brother didn’t know for sure that they were even related. I don’t really blame them all that much unless they continue the relationship wether they choose to have kids or not. They can change their minds later on and want to have kids. I do blame the birth parents but mostly the state and adoption agencies that handled their cases because somewhere down the line they should’ve known that the same exact parent (s) were giving away babies for adoption. Never keep the knowledge of blood relationships away from blood because this type of nasty stuff happens.

These people were undoubtedly in foster care and just never told. After all, their parents didn't bother to let them know they were adopted until they were almost adults. It's likely they have other older or younger full siblings nearby too.
