Talented 18-Year-Old Girl Sews Stunning Dresses That Look Straight Out Of A Disney Movie
Angela Clayton is an eighteen-year-old costume designer from Long Island, New York. She first started sewing three years ago when she got interested in cosplay; now, Clayton attends events less often, and has evolved to focus more on original designs. Her projects can take as long as 250 hours, and Clayton once used 11 meters (12 yards) of fabric for a costume!
“The costume work in the film “The Three Musketeers” and the series “The Borgias” were what got me interested in historical fashion in the first place,” Clayton told Bored Panda. “I spend hours sewing every day. And if i’m not sewing, i’m probably thinking about sewing.”
“I hope that there is a future career that I will get out of it,” Clayton told Cosmo. “I love making costumes and I love bringing ideas to life. If I could do that for fashion, especially for theater or film, that would be awesome…I would rather go straight into that if I can instead of spending four years at school.”

I see so much money on thouse fabrics and very simple patterns, sometimes the more importand is not talet is parents who understand what you are doing and support you. : ( I remember how much i have to work to get money when i was 16 to buy fabric, any of thouse dress could be more than 500 USD just on material.

From someone who knows~ She is clearly very talented. Those with a natural talent for something like this are a rare find indeed. Anyone can be taught to sew, but this passion and attention to detail shows her true love for design and construction of clothing. With her skill and execution at her age, fashion school would be a waste of money. She already has the skills to get herself into the film, television or costume industry. You do not need a college diploma for that. <3

I really hope this talented young lady finishes school then applies for fashion school. I speak from experience so know there are no shortcuts unfortunately, you need a good solid training in sewing and design to work in theatre and movies. Making for clients is a little harder than for yourself, so I wish her every good luck, her work so far is very good if she has no formal training.

I really hope this young lady finishes school and gets to fashion school, then tries to get work experience in the theatre. Not that easy to break into the theatre without qualifications and experience, but raw talent does help a bit. Good luck.
