I have always been fascinated with Jesus and made a toy based on him. I photographed it in London so it feels as if Jesus is coming to the City to teach and help people. He is like a real person. His story is more cheerful here because he lives on among people, goes sightseeing, even visits St. Paul’s Cathedral and has got a normal life like us. I think it is a cool interpretation of his story.

I also wanted to make a cuddly toy based on Jesus because we often hear that He loves us but sometimes it is difficult to imagine it when he is represented in an old-fashioned way. I decided to make a toy that is actually lovable and give him a chance to actually “live” a life among us. He has a big heart, beard, long hair and a book of wisdom with Alpha and Omega letters on it which means the Beginning and the End.

It took me a couple of hours to make the toy and then another day to photograph it. The toy is for sale through my artisan toys website Bolce&Banany. There will be more Jesus-inspired toys and I hope people connect with this quirky idea.
