The dog I had as a kid liked to stick his nose into a hole in the fence of the backyard. It was only big enough for his nose but I wish we had thought to expand it and add an awning. He would have loved that. He adored the neighborhood kids stopping by to interact with him - this would have allowed actual pets and not just boops.

YES PLEASE. As a former grocery-store employee, it is so angering when a crappy, irresponsible owner walks their dog in on a leash (despite the no dogs allowed sign) and the dog urinates/defecates in the store as the owner watches, and then the owner just walks away from the mess, ignoring it. I've watched dogs lick/eat produce while the owner is oblivious. I've also seen dogs lunge, bark, and snap at other customers, as the poor pups are clearly terrified by being in the store (too much noise, too many people, too many smells, etc.) I LOVE dogs and I wish I could take my own puppy everywhere with me, but it's not fair to the dog - and to other customers - to drag your untrained, undisciplined pupper into a grocery store on just a leash.

Just get a ceramic or metal bowl, and wash it regularly. Wash the food bowl, too!

Just use a clean bowl and fresh water every day! No way animals should have to drink flithy water also a clean bowl for the food too.

The water is pretty nasty by the point the paw would be visible. 🤢 If you change the water out daily or every other day tops, you wouldn't need this.🤔

Oh c’mon. How about just changing the water every couple days without needing a reminder because you love your pet? I mean, I’ve got a cat fountain but I still change the water completely every second day.

Had one of those. They are actually a pain to clean xD had to take off the top part where the bottle clicks on to be able to properly scrub it. And mind ya, was washing it every 2-3 days... Still got some glitchy matter in the hard to reach areas

My parents need that they never change a dogs water my dad loves those ones that you fill up and lasts a week. Bowl gets slimey

I wouldn't worry too much. My dog and many others I know will pass up the clear, fresh water for a dirty, stagnant puddle any day of the week!

Or, you could just give your pets fresh water every day. They’d be happier and it would still tell you it had been too long between bowl washings (if you don’t at least wipe it out every time you fill it.)

Sad this is needed. Change water daily people. If food particles gets in it then more than once. Yeesh not rocket science.
