Doctor here.. I was working in a small community hospital in the A&E. This hospital was affiliated to a larger tertiary care center which was out of beds. So it wasn't accepting any more patients. The nearby hospitals were also out of beds. Us being a primary care could only give symptomatic treatment and refer the patient. Once a lady came with severe breathlessness. SpO2 was 68%. We couldn't do anything for her. We were out of O2. It was horrible.

You can draw blood from the superficial veins. You just need to reassure the patient and make the situation calm. Sometimes we put catheter in your neck to access your veins that are directly connected to your heart. Of course it can have complications but it has saved countless lives( central lines)

In india endometriosis is taken very seriously and even the junior doctors diagnose it without any difficulty. Most of the obgyn, family medicine, housesurgeons etc are adequately trained to diagnose common OG problems. Being a man is not a factor to underdiagnose. It's the attitude of the doctor, quality of training that is limiting.

In my hospital any bleeding PV is extensively evaluated by ObGyn and even thr neonatologist on call is informed in case the baby is born for premature care. And yeah we have to get consent for everything. This is just sad and illegal. House surgeon here

In truth, we all have a small-scale Jeff Bezos inside us. For example, when your daughter wants a stunning prom dress when she already has a decent dress, you buy her one. You don't think of how she already had one. You don't think about how those 80$ could have fed a poor family in Africa for a week. When you feel tired and exhausted and take your family on a vacation to Hawaii, you don't think of how others could have benefited from those hundreds of dollars you spent on your leisure time. You don't think of the other people who have it worse. When you wear make-up, you don't think about a mineral called "mica" hidden inside it., which makes it shimmer. You don't think about poor kids in India working in dangerous mica mines so you can keep your youthful shimmer. You think about you. You do all these things BECAUSE you can afford it. Please comment on this comment. I want to know your thoughts about the facts I stated!
