40 Images That Are So Cool And Unusual They Could Totally Work As Album Covers

It's the character of Krusty the Clown. There was an episode which had Krusty give his origin story (after giving a traditional Hebrew blessing when being a guest at the Simpsons). It's a parody of the movie "The Jazz Singer" which is, supposedly the story of Al Jolson. Basically, Krusty was born to an ultra-Orthodox Jewish family and was expected to be a Rabbi, but wanted to be a clown instead. His original name was supposedly Herschel Shmoikel Pinchas Yerucham Krustofsky. The name itself makes fun of the changes that different immigrants made to their names for show biz. While every single one of those is a proper Eastern European Jewish name, Eastern European Jews only used one or two. Other cultures used more, so Rudolph Valentino's full name was actually Rodolfo Pietro Filiberto Raffaello Guglielmi di Valentina d'Antonguolla

I think Airbnb should lower their fees so that we can charge less and the hosts that have those huge to-do lists need grow up and get some common sense. Read the reviews and see how others have liked their experience. Don't generalize the whole site based on some crazies. Most of the hosts are doing their best to provide a safe, clean space and want their guests to enjoy their stays. But, others are in it just for the money, aren't involved with the daily maintenance and if they get rejected by the public for their greediness, they will eventually have to close.

If I were to hire someone to do the cleaning and paid them $15/hour, it would be $75 for just one guest. My income would go completely to cleaning fees. I have a bad back and sometimes it's awful to keep this up. Hiring someone for long term stays makes sense, but most people come through for one or two nights. Covid continues to affect costs, too. I had a couple stay for a week over Thanksgiving. They went to a dinner and both were infected and got sick even though they were vaccinated. I didn't catch it but I closed the rooms for five days to prevent anyone else getting sick. The virus can live on some surfaces for 3 or 4 days. Then, there are the other costs of running a business. We had three months of 100 degree weather here. My a/c bill was $500/month. There is upkeep on the house, yard work, etc. It all adds up and is not easy. But, I have had wonderful guests and am enjoying this experience a great deal. They have all seemed happy here, too.

I have an Airbnb and agree that hosts need to cover their costs with the basic fee. But, there are things we don't control. The Service fee and Occupancy taxes are charged by Airbnb. Supposedly, they are sending the tax money collected to our local offices, but I went to mine and they said they have never received anything from Airbnb for any of the listings in my town. Then, Airbnb also takes a fee from what we charge, so they are charging both the guest and the host. The reason so many people jack up their cleaning fees is that Airbnb does not take a percentage of that. So, they keep their "price" low and then make up with it in the cleaning fees. I've struggled with pricing and am charging around $80/night per room. (I have three bedrooms listed). https://www.airbnb.com/users/show/246636446 It takes me at least 5 hours of cleaning for each guest. I wash everything, vacuum, dust, scrub the bathroom and have a dining room and living room that need to stay clean, too.
