It’s really something silly, and it was only one of many things that lead to the realization. I had slept in and missed saying goodbye when he left for work. I called to tell him to have a good day and to tease him about not giving me a goodbye kiss. 10 minutes later he walked through the door, gave me a kiss, and then left for work again. He was always doing sweet and playful things like that, and in that moment I realize I didn’t want anyone else. Within weeks we were engaged, and 5 months later we were married. We celebrated 14yrs last month.

My wife's birthday is 2 weeks apart from my mom's. Before this past year my mom had never been to Europe before. My wife was turning 30 and my mom turning 60. Instead of planning her own 30th birthday trip, she instead planned a trip for the two of us to take my mom on a trip to Europe for her 60th birthday. It was such an incredibly selfless thing to do and it was a trip of a lifetime for all of us.

My son and I watched the eclipse in Wyoming on August 21, 2017.
He asked when the next would be. Aside from the recent one in April 2024, we discovered there will be one in our hometown on August 12, 2045.
He noticed the he would be about the same age on that date, as I was during the Wyoming eclipse. I was 41, and he will be 41 at the one in the future.

We did the math...

As it turns out, on August 21, 2017 I was 15,206 days old.
On August 12, 2045, my son will be 15,206 days old.

I sure hope to enjoy it with him!
