Starting to get really tired of manufactured outrage. Every day, there's something new to be outraged about across pretty much all spectrums. Politics, sports figures, celebrities, even just general life things that people write articles about, or tweet about, or whatever. Constant outrage to get clicks and eyeballs. Gotta get people all riled up and steaming mad. Just getting sick of it, day in and day out. I don't know if there's an actual term for it, but to me I'd call it outrage fatigue.

The hyenas in the Lion King were banished to an elephant graveyard and were hungry. It's not like the lions weren't killing things to eat themselves, but Mufasa wasn't going to let hyenas get away with that. Of course they're going to follow the guy who promises them food. Their part in Be Prepared is "we're going to be able to eat!" And then when they do get to leave the graveyard they overdo it because they'd never been allowed to eat anything but elephants who came to die, which probably isn't an everyday occurrence.

Night shift at a packing line. We had two new temps and they were polar opposites. One super bubbly religious guy who was pretty emotional (cried during his favorite songs) the other guy was grunge, pretty cynical but a damned good worker. Well they both ended up working on adjacent lines and I was training them. Things were great till the bubbly guy decided it was his mission to befriend the grunge guy. Grunge dude wanted to be left alone so he could work but bubbly guy kept going to our team lead to tell her he couldn’t understand why grunge wouldn’t be his friend. My team lead comes down and tells them to play nice and be friends. (She was despised by most of our crew) she’s oblivious, I told her that bubbles needs to leave grunge alone but she wouldn’t have it. Grunge walked out. And bubbles cried for two nights straight then never came back.

Fashion trends. Loved them when I was younger. Now I feel like a crotchety old woman when I look at low rise jeans coming back in disgust. Now I get why older people sometimes get stuck in a decade clothing wise.Rogang4thewin reply
