Everything changed but after WWII the communists ruled in Poland for 45 years and while we were poor country, nearly everyone could live at the same level. In 1989 the political transformation along with capitalism came, with all its pros and cons. Still it's unreal when you look back how we've developed.

We have the lowest earnings on EU with the same or higher costs of living. Also many other connected problems with the fatal health care, politics, economic inequalities, low perspectives in smaller cities. A lot of problems.

What's cool and visible in this photo is that the urban layout that referred to the human body. The palace was supposed to be the head, the main street crossing the city was the backbone with the Market Square in the place of the heart.
