When I came "out", my Dad and Mom said that they would never reject me and would always love me because I am their son. And they did. This was back in the '80s.

A friend of mine, a Native American influential politician, asked me to take her picture with this guy and her friends. I obliged, no big deal. This guy is chatty and commends them on their efforts. Later, the friends I was with and I went out for supper. One of the guys starts talking about how awesome it was to have met Dave Matthews. I had been hanging out with the group the whole day; I never saw Dave Matthews and said as much. He looks at me and tells me that I had taken his picture. Yep, my friends do call me Mr. Oblivious . . .
