I agree with you overall. But i have to point this out...The way you use negative wording to describe having kids. Is kinda... "and didn't use her body as an incubator" Off i dunno. You described my mother "she worked hard, graduated from college" She also had kids at the age of 24. AND continued working. It is doable! I think t is a choice based on the means you have as a person (inherent ability and society etc...) You can do all the good things in life AND have kids they are not mutually exclusive. Or you can just have kids. Or you can Just focus on carrer! I don't like this negative vibe... around having children. But the mother thinking that other being a mom is somehow going to give them magical teaching powers... yeh she is a control freak a nutcase that makes me worried for the future of her children.

My state says I'm not allowed to provide alcohol to my own children until they are 21.

I will not let them be carted off to a bar on their 21st birthday unless they are already very familiar with alcohol and how different ABV% affects their bodies. I do not care what the law says, their first drink will come from me in the safety of their own home.

My husband and l taught our son about alcohol. Don't mix liquors. One drink 2 water. Sip no chugging. This included giving him a small chocolate martini when we were having company. He thought because it was chocolate and sweet it withs do nothing. He was wrong. He handles it well now.

Passengers Unite Against Woman Who Wouldn't Give Up Her Aisle Seat For Family Of Five

I got back from vacation yesterday. This DID happen to me on the flight to Greece. A couple did not pay to sit together. When l got on the plane the husband was sitting in my (paid for) isle seat. He tried to act as though he did not know he was sitting in my seat. His wife was sitting in fent front of him in the bulkhead area that is the roomiest section of the plane. She asked if l would trade because she needed more room. I said no. My seat was specifically paid for because of my long legs. Later l realized she had more room than l did but wanted to sit next to her husband. If she'd told the truth, l might have considered it. But they BOTH tried to lie and take advantage. Just entitled! When the plane landed, we stood up and he proceeded to take his bag from under his seat and place it on mine. I had to ask him to move it so l could use my suave to get my bags! Just because you don't see our directly experience it didn't meant it's not happening.

Horrible, traumatic losses are like this. There are times I wish there was some sort of physical sign you would get so that others could understand how bad things are, but I guess that is evolution keeping our enemies from knowing how vulnerable we are at the moment.

And still most people who have never experienced it think that it's just "being sad". Nope. I wish I would have felt anything like being sad when I was clinically depressed... at least it would have been something else than this emptiness... I was more brokkoli than human.

Trying to revive a dying person while their wife stands next to you screaming for them. And you’re covered in his vomit and he’s turning blue and you’re 16 and panicking and there’s a dozen people watching you desperately attempt CPR and you don’t even know what happened to him you just know nobody else can help.

Losing a child. I'm not a parent but I can see for myself how painful it is to lose a child. When my childhood friend died when she was 17, that was the only time I've ever seen a man cry so hard.

Pure and unconditional love. That way it sitting on your heart, the warm feeling it spreads across your chest. The infinite happiness when you are with them. The unspoken words between each other that both fully understand. And knowing that, that person is the first and last face you see. On the other hand, the sudden loss of one of the most important people in your life. That empty void that was once positive emotions, now dark negative emotions or no emotions at all. The coldness you feel towards life and towards the world. Like a piece of your own soul was also lost that day, a piece that will never come back.

You are NOT AH. Cooking has an energy. If your energy is not right the food won't be either. Last year l was not feeling well. I've been cooking for 40 years. I've never burned dinner. EVER. That year, l burned collard greens, Mac n cheese the easiest stiff to make. I how you have a great, relaxing peaceful day. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers.

Our beloved dog had SEVERE separation anxiety. She was actually on Xanax and Prozac. We went on a business trip. We had to leave her in a kennel. We'd only used one that a co worker of my husband worked at. Well, long story short, she was off that morning, left instructions not to leave her caged but give her yard time. She did well if she is could interact with other dogs. It did not have to be human contact. Apparently, she barked and barked to no avail. My dog had a heart attack at 6 years old. I was devastated beyond anything words can express. NTA you know your dog. You sound like you are doing event you can. SIL needs to get over herself especially because you offered options that included the dog not being on the property near guests. Her my way or the highway attitude is the real issue

Ok, I can say this because I'm a healthcare provider with experience treating people with mental health issues. Your GF is not AH. She is depressed. Her overeating and inability to hold a job are symptoms. Please sit down and kindly discuss this with her. Most people don't want to admit depression or anything to do with this because of the stigma. There is something in her past that ties her emotions to food. Now, for your will being, physical and emotional health, you need to consider what your future plans are with this woman. Sometimes love is not enough to sustain a relationship. This will be a LONG hard road for her and until she gets better you WILL have to (unfortunately) lock your food away. This is going to hurt her feelings and cause stress for both of you. This relationship may end. She is young enough to get past this if she is willing to do the work. I am not in a position to tell you how you feel or how dedicated you are so l won't advise you what to do.
