My curiosity in photography began in the late 1960s when I was in my late teens after viewing B&W images by famous fashion photographers in Look, Time, Vogue, and Life magazines that my mother would buy and leave lying around the house. One day while browsing the pages of Life Magazine I came across a photograph by Garry Winogrand. What I saw in Winogrand’s photograph was completely the opposite of every magazine image I had seen, and what I saw was the complexity and the realities of human nature in his photography.
Then and there I thought to myself, where do I start, and how do I pursue a life in photography?
