It can be bad, sometimes it isn’t. IIRC there’s about 13 types of EDS. Some cause crazy (and lethal) complications that can lead to kids who have it passing away at an extremely young age (I think I have at least one relative who passed away before 10 due to it). I have EDS type 3 (hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, AKA hEDS) which for me just causes, as expected, heightened flexibility. I can’t go bungee jumping though, or else my legs would be violently ripped out of their sockets. There can also be comorbidities, or conditions that can come with EDS like a package deal, common ones include IBS and other IBDs, arthritis, and fibromyalgia. Hope that helps!

It's pretty bad. I have, as well as my dad. We're both pretty flexible, but the thing with EDS is that it weakens every kind of connective tissue throughout the body. Think tendons, ligaments, blood vessels, etc. This weakness puts a lot of strain on joints, causing dislocations and subluxation (everything from my wrists, to my ribs, to my neck). All of this causes chronic pain, chronic fatigue, muscle weakness, brain fog, and risks of heart attacks and strokes (the latter of which my dad endured 6 years ago). Another thing to note is that EDS is incredibly varied, affecting individuals in different ways. One person can be completely debilitated and bedridden, while another can go out and about with some pain and discomfort; it really just depends on the individual. But yes, it can be fun to twist your body in all sorts of ways :)
