The song "whalien 52" by BTS uses the story of this very whale as a metaphor for loneliness. This whale emits a frequency of 52Hz which cannot be heard by other whales but it still keeps on singing. BTS used this story to convey how you may feel unheard and invisible even though you are surrounded by people.
