David Daneman has a lot to say with his comic series The DaneMen, but it turns out that silence is his strongest storytelling technique.
What is a 'silent comic,' you might ask? Usually, comic strips are defined by their text boxes and thought bubbles which allow you to 'hear' the drawn characters' thoughts and words. The DaneMen, however, gets ideas across with visuals alone. Daneman follows a unique process - he photographs himself, traces the image using a photo editor, and turns the resultant drawing into a cartoon.
It might all sound like a pretty complicated way to make a simple comic, but when you see the lifelike facial expressions Daneman's sketch-self exhibits, you'll wonder why you ever settled for stick figures. The Montreal-based illustrator may be a jack-of-all-trades of sorts, previously studying film at the University of Kansas, graphic design at Vancouver Community College, and teaching English in South Korea, but comics are clearly his true passion. The peregrine falcon isn't really the fastest. It can achieve speeds of 240 mph I think, but that's only because it dives straight down from really frickin' high up. The real fastest is some other bird that I forgot. No internet search was used in the making of this comment.
Hey if life gives you cardboard boxes make a house out of it rent it
I used to go to a bar that was called "The Office", when I would tell my GF where I was I would say, "The Office"
when I lived in Mexico, in some cities (mos probably in all of them) you had your beggars and such, the government recommends the general population not to give them money since it is believed to encourage it, but one can not help to feel bad for some of this peeps. One time I offered this Raramuri girl who dindt speak any spanish and all she would say is korima (What I have, you have, or share with me). I was carrying a sandwhich and gave her half, she threw it on the floor and she extended her hand and she said "Dame Dinero"!
oh! hes texting himself while on top of the world, meaning " its lonely at the top"

I love the art style as much as the artist's realistic point of view. 😺
Love those! Amazing how the generic guy´s expression always fits the situation and makes the whole point funnier. Also the ideas are really original and interesting.
This artist is brilliant, love the play on words with the comic titles
I love your style sir. Can't wait to see more of your work. I'll remember your name
These are WAAAAY better than I expected. I guess it's because Bored Panda has been running a glut of cartoonists recently; some decidedly lame, and it kind of put me off. .. Anyway, really glad I finally got here! Awesome stuff!
