As a father of three, I began drawing Fireflies Comics as a way to create stories for and about my children. What started as a personal project soon became a labor of love, and I am excited to present my comic, Fireflies, to you.

Fireflies Comics has been in development for six years, focusing on the lives and adventures of a family and their friends. The main characters—siblings Ollie, Nova, and Elijah—share many experiences with their parents and friends, forming the heart of the story.

The Fireflies family lives in Eastern North America, around the Carolinas, a setting that offers opportunities for diverse storylines involving mountains, beaches, history, and plenty of shenanigans. Many of the ideas for the comics come from my own family’s everyday life, bringing authenticity and warmth to each story.

My desire for this comic stemmed from a wish to provide clean, engaging reading material for my children. Over time, I noticed that much of what is published today emphasizes family arguments and conflict. In response, I wanted to depict a healthy 90s-style family dynamic, with friendships that still encounter their share of mischief and adventure.

I love playing guitar, writing music, reading comics, drawing, and developing software. Some of my biggest comic influences are Charles Schulz, Bill Watterson, Will Henry, and Tauhid Bondia.

The slingshot was the premier weapon of the time, and usable with great accuracy from a distance. Goliath wouldn't have stood a chance. The moral of the story is that weapons make one superior - is that really what they meant to say?
