30 Times Preachers Got Exposed On This IG Page That Made People Really Question Their Morals
Do you care if a person has a taste for designer labels and hefty price tags? What if they're the ones telling you to choose a modest lifestyle?
The Instagram account PreachersNSneakers offers a glimpse into the world of faith and fashion by pairing images of pastors sporting high-end clothing items with their eye-watering costs.
Created by Ben Kirby, the social media project reminds us to stay vigilant about whose advice we choose to follow, as a person's choices can render their words questionable, at the very least.

The last time we featured PreachersNSneakers, Kirby said that faith leaders should surround themselves with people who can be honest with them and point out the mistakes in their judgement, should they occur.
"Many churches today are led by one pastor couple with no elders or leadership team on the same level, that’s asking for trouble. Being a pastor is a tough job; it’s an immense calling to lead others spiritually. Why wouldn’t you put as many safeguards in place to help you stay above reproach?" he wondered then.

Proof money doesn’t buy class. Most of these clothes are hideous. They can afford the best clothes in the world (from scamming and ripping people off) and they choose these garish outfits. Flaunting their wealth. Kind of ironic isn’t it. These people are ugly, inside and out.
According to the founder of the project, if you're an active member of your local church and you donate to the ministry, it's perfectly reasonable to ask questions about how the organization is "saving, spending, and giving that money."
"If you ... get a wishy-washy answer with no real reporting, you should ask yourself why," he noted.
"On a more macro level, I think a time is coming where massive church organizations will at least be required to provide more detailed financial reporting to the government or some other governing authority. So many churches have enormous donation revenues (hundreds of millions of dollars), commercial real estate holdings, and licensing income that seemingly have no reporting requirements compared to a for-profit business."

Kirby's own relationship with Jesus, his wife, and his community has helped keep his faith strong despite some greedy members of the clergy.
"Getting insults from other Christians for ... years didn’t exactly make me feel great, but it caused me to really dig into why I believe what I believe and learn to place my worth in what God says about me and not what others have to say," he shared.
"I’ll just say that I’m grateful to have the opportunity to help others push for a more authentic faith and representation of Jesus to the outside world. I didn’t do this in a perfect way and definitely don’t have all the answers, but am trying my best."

These people are performers and the sheep are buying into the prayer aspect and are followers of this celebrity that the pastor created of himself. That’s why he needs designer and coolness, to keep his star status. They don’t want to worship a poor man. They want to worship a celebrity.

And we haven't even gotten to the jewellery and the private planes yet.
And rarely was the demand to „tax the rich“ as fitting as it is for these guys
These people are not men of any god. They're con men, plain and simple.
It's the only institution ever to exist where no one has ever worked and the riches of the church is incalculable. I know a guy work as an accountant for a Diocese here in Spain. They own countless land and properties that they rent out. They don't pay tax and don't have to be audited like an NGO has to. FFS we had a cultural association and we had to file taxes. In Spain the church receives circa € 300,000,000.00 from the state and doesn't have to justify a penny. It's disgusting but even more is that people are stupid enough to give them money.
How people can give these supposed men of God money and see how it is spent is beyond me. The money they are spending on ugly clothes could be used for people who actually need help and the people Jesus would be helping. A lot of people on this list will be surprised when they aren't welcomed in God's kingdom.
Cool, BP. Now do one on all the pastors who are working two jobs to make ends meet while also donating their own time and money to the church. Do one on all the churches that are out there practicing what they preach. Do one on all the religious charities and organizations that are standing in the gaps to fight poverty and all sorts of injustice. Talk about how often religious people come out of the woodwork to help when there's been a disaster. Talk about how religious people are more generous with their time and money than non-religious people. (https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/am-i-right/201912/religion-and-generosity) Talk about how religious people are happier and more active in their communities. (https://www.pewresearch.org/religion/2019/01/31/religions-relationship-to-happiness-civic-engagement-and-health-around-the-world/) Stop just going after the low-hanging fruit and trying to paint all religious people with this brush.
This is fun and all, and I'm certainly not religious, but someone really ought to put together a list of the holy people who aren't wearing Gucci and actually walking the walk. I bet the list will be much bigger.
So... in order to look down to earth and like they are just one of the crowd... they dress mroe "casual" but their version of casual costs thousands of dollars and the people attending these "worships" don't realize that. This is sick. And one of many reasons why I got the hell out of religion!!!!!
I have an urge to hunt them down with a $1000 jewel encrusted sports bottle filled with red kool-aid
The joke is on them. All of these status-name-brand wildly-overpriced items are quite ugly.
Most of us know they are hypocrites and it's no surprise to us. It's unlikely to shake their congregants blind faith because it's justifiable somehow (with a lot of mental gymnastics, of course). I'd be thrilled to see their own parishioners calling them out en masse, but I'm not holding my breath.
Not trying to bash America, but sure as hell this s**t ain't happening in Europe. I mean, historically, people did try and pay their way into heaven somewhere during the Middle Ages but even the Catholic Church has toned it down a couple notches since then.
My ex-husband, who was a pastor at the time, wore Florsheim and nothing else. We lived on donations... Florsheim-...d4de90.jpg
i went to high school with Michael Todd. did not see him becoming a pastor.....
So they get these cloth for free from the brand to promote them. And you guys are publishing these picture to keep advertising for the brand? Mmmm let me think about that. I guess the brand is the winner here.
Depending on taxation laws in your country some allow for clothing to be a tax deduction for Pastors.
It's always fascinated me, how people can believe in religion and "religious leaders." I grew up in the church myself, my dad was a pastor. It was when I was in my teens that I looked around and at the teachings, and thought "wait... All this is a load of BS..." A character created by the author Robert E Howard once summed it up nicely-- "I heed not the words of those who claim to speak on behalf of the gods."
and, sadly, there are those who in their respective flocks that would defend them. no minister, preacher, etc., needs to wear such expensive clothing. nor do they need multi million dollar homes, private jets or air conditioned dog houses. this also go for the vatican and all their wealth. there is an old movie 'the shoes of the fisherman' that ends up having the newly appointed pope make the decision to liquidate all of the church's wealth and give it to the world in the areas of need. no religion needs to have such wealth.
Question: Who are the unprincipled greedy rip-off artists here - the preachers or the garment sellers?
thank u, bp, for sharing with us the real problems of the church today: its not prosperity theology, a religious aberration, its not the transformation of churches into corporation and neither the mega churches, a deep state mass indoctrination and non-denominalizing instrument, its the coloreds wearing shiny clothes, worth ten times less than a white preacher's watch.
Im so out of touch with these things, the most expensive clothing i own is my one good suit from Hugo Boss, it cost about $1000 for the suit. I cannot justify spending $1000 on a pair of sneakers
Can't really be mad because I'm not the sucker in the congregation financing their lifestyles ... I knew it was a scam when I saw Hezekiah Walker in a fur coat ... I won't even get into Creflo Dollar's Rolls Royce and G650 ... lest we forget how long it took Osteen to open the doors to his church after a devastating hurricane ...
There is the outside chance that some of these were donated by wealthy members of the congregation, in which case you would hope that they were thanked loudly and publicly—without mentioning their names—to keep everything open and above board. I'm not rating that chance as high, though…
Simply put, there are far too many (Educators, Entertainers, Joy givers, etc.) who when the opportunity to make that "ultimate me" impression appears, take full advantage of the worshipers who may feel this is part of "God's Will. Imagine them as fans and groupies for the spreaders of a higher power's messangers that they want to relate with.
I once complained about someone buying lobster with food stamps (back when they were actual paper) and was told by my mother to mind my own business. I don't know how long they saved up their extra dollars to buy that lobster. Or what event in their life may be happening. Maybe they put away two food stamp dollars every month for a year to buy a lobster for their wedding anniversary. These preachers having one expensive thing isn't a big deal to me, because you don't know what they went through to get them. If every outfit they own is like that, however, that's a different story. One the Bible actually talks about in a way. That bit about it being harder to get an elephant through the eye of a needle than a rich man into heaven.
