“What Do You Collect?”: User Asked Pandas To Show Their Collections And 50 People Delivered
People just love collecting things, no matter what. And it's really amazing how different each collection is from one another. Some collect stamps, others toys, and others go even further and create their own ideas for a collection.
Which is why I thought it would be interesting to see what Bored Panda community members are collecting, and I wasn't disappointed. Some collections were really bizarre in an awesome way, some collections were more standard, but still very exciting to see. Without a doubt, there's a collection for anything one might conceive of.

Load More Replies...At this point for me, Gray hair and trying to get rid of all the stuff I collected.
Yes, I know what you mean. I think when my mother died I realized I can't take any of it with me. And my family will have to deal with it. Idk, could just be the grief talking.
Load More Replies...It's interesting,a lot of people are collecting a lot of stuff. I wonder, is it some kind of human need to do so? I can imagine, back in the day, the Annas who came before me ,collected rocks, shells, feathers or shiny metals just for the satisfaction to look at them, feel them, maybe lay them down in a specific order or gift them to someone special. What a most pleasant thought 😊
I collect fountain pens. Starting with the one my grandfather who was a doctor used.
I collect stones from all the places I’ve traveled. They are all labeled. I’m going to will the collection to my nieces and nephews with the request that they return the stones to their original location. That way I get to encourage them to see the world, and I get be a small part of their travels after I’m gone.
I collect so many things it's ridiculous. I have been a vintage reseller for many years and now also run estate sales. I collect: Vera Neumann scarves and textiles, vintage purses, vintage printed cotton tablecloths and napkins, vintage kitchenwares, art, mid-century era cats in art and figurines, MCM furniture, CathrineHolm enamelware, antique spatter enamelware, 1950s enamelware(can you tell I like enamelware?) vintage brooches and bangles, 1950s-60s bar ware, mid-century ceramic antelopes, swug glass vases, vintage clothing...there's probably more things but really that's enough. lol Our house looks like a mid-century modern time warp.
I just found a Vera in my drawer. Was my Grams.
Load More Replies...I've never really been bitten by the collection bug. When I have up to 3 or 4 of an item, I usually feel that's enough and I don't need any more.
I collect cuddlies (another word for stuffed animals), mugs, rare money (largely British thing) and pin badges :)
It’s crazy. I grew up in a hording house and just looking at the first 10 pictures made my feel physically ill. What a surprising guttural reaction. I’m glad collecting things bring some people joy. It makes me want to set a building on fire, but you do you boo.
I wish I had contributed to this one. I have a great monster collection! Our whole house is filled with monster art, figurines, and collectibles.
I used to collect comic books (6000 of them) and now I am a magician (tons of it). I believe collectors live their life with passion!
i collect rabbit stuffed animals. my collection is at 26 right now but im fifteen so it will just grow haha
Decks of playing cards. I have over 400 unique decks in my collection. https://rickscards.blogspot.com/
Collecting books. Well, isn't it a common thing for everyone who has a bookshelf?
I already made a post, but something else I collect is those rainbow loom bracelets. I make and collect them, and I do the same with the bracelets you make with string.
I have an extensive collection of textiles (i'm a quilter; i collect fabric, which i cut into small pieces, then sew into quilts)
I collect books, which I intend to eventually read. It doesn't sound like much but during the pandemic especially, I go in to trying to find works of fiction (translated to English) from as many countries as possible. I'm up to 154 and I'm particularly fond of the ones that were very challenging to find or actually acquire like North Korea, Eritrea, Laos, Liechtenstein, Moldova, Belarus, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Mauritania, and Cape Verde. And finding ones written in their national languages. A lot of writers from former Soviet countries write in Russian or German because of a broader audience, so finding works originally in Ukrainian or Georgian was a feat. And India, English is most available, so finding ones originally written in Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, Bengali, that was an accomplishment.
I collect pencils from all over the world they have to say. The destination on the pencil there's also a few pens because pencils are becoming alot harder to get hold of I started when I was 7 people also buy me them from around the world to.
I collect those mumin-mugs (pretty common in my country) and get childishly excited when a new one come out (twice a year, the season ones). And fridge magnets from every new place I visit. I love to look at them and keep the memories alive from each trip.
The only thing I collect are playbills and ticket stubs from all the musicals I've seen. I've seen 25+ shows live. Ofc I've seen a lot more thanks to the magic of cinema. But id love to add more to my collection!
I have the entire collection of Elfquest comics, the Dutch ones and the American ones, as well as the other Elfquest items. I don't have everything yet of the collection but I'm getting there
I collect books! I’ve been working on completing my Rick Riordan mythology collection!
I collect Funko's, cd's, playmobils, and stuffed animals (specially cats!)
I collect a few things. Kind of gather them from my adventures. Art, Shot glasses from places I visited, tiny figurines, horror movies, and plushes (including beanie babies). All these things I like and my place is oddly organize and clean. lol thank you for the existence of shelves.
I'm surprised not to see Euro coins here, people used to collect those, maybe it's not a thing anymore? Or wasn't allowed to be posted for some reason?
I have over 600 silver charms (of which 43 are mechanical), about 200 pieces of Vollrath enamelware (I use some to cook with but many are unused), metal Band-Aid boxes (including examples of the first three they ever used and two intact WW2 Band-Aid brand first aid kits), and every Harry Potter Lego set from the first 3 movies unopened.
My mom collects red rose tea teapot collectables. Just missing 14.
I mostly collected key chains from different countries but now I have to wait till I can finally travel
I have a collection of collections. The Little Prince (40+), Tupperware (600+), Lily Bloom bags (50+), Lego, duplo, books (~1500), games (board, card, etc ~500), lularoe leggings (~100), yard decorations (metal, plaster, wood, etc 50+)
I collect balls, small ones so it fits to hand. Collection has industrial made balls like roll-on ball and ball from mice to hand made glass and color stone. I never ever buy those, couple from hundreds. It is almost religious experience when you found da ball from ground, it like comes to me. You can find ball from anywhere, abandoned places, center of city, recent balls are from houses what I have rented, glass and plastic, wooden and iron. Once I steal ball because I got lost from forest to cabin's yard, and there it was 9 cm diameter hollow black plastic ball waiting for me, screaming take me! That was also so that ball dint have any function, it was light, can fly around the yard, it didint have any context what i would have noticed in that please. this was good example from religious experience, i was so abashed what i saw, i got lost and then what i found missing black ball from my collection. Value is 50 cents so I did'nt think much i just took it :) and walk same way back.
