Nice but I don't think that you should do it on actual, living trees It's okay to do it on dead trees but doing it on live trees is not cool

Nope, it's still in the ground but dead. There are only a few species that will regrow when cut down. These trees were diseased, dying, dangerous it dead before being cut at that height. If the tree has a full crown it's dangerous to carve into the trunk as it weakens the tree.
