My sculpture artwork examines the beauty and brutality of the natural world. My sculptural language is formed by surrounding landscapes and nature and engages with themes of memories, identity, and place. Beautiful sculptures and art installations consist of thousands of hand-crafted porcelain shards, an art medium that yields a texture both delicate and severe.
In some works of art, large scale-like ceramic pieces appear airy, delicate, and fluffy, as if one’s breath might break it. In other unique artworks, my fragments are geometric barbs that mysteriously take on an alluring form – offering a sense of softness despite a sharp actuality.
I was born in 1983 and raised in a Kibbutz, the northern part of Israel. After completing my BFA from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design (Jerusalem), I earned my MA at the Royal College of Art (UK). I currently live and work at the Archie Bray Foundation Residency (Helena, MT).
