Cats are known to be renowned napping champions with an average of 16 hours per day spent dozing off during this cringy film called life. After so much practice in the sleep department, they really know what it takes to get a good catnap. The answer is not much.
Our furry friends have been spotted sleeping nearly anywhere. The locations speak for themselves—tissue boxes, wine glasses, winter shoes, terrariums, flower pots, and laundry racks. Sometimes, it’s the sleeping positions that catch the eye—on the head, upside down, all stretched and curved, or using a dog as a pillow. I'll just leave it here.
After you’re done upvoting your favorite of these weird sleeping cats, don’t forget to scroll through Bored Panda’s previous compilations of feline sleep master classes here and here. Have one silly cat that's fast asleep right next to you? Share in the comments!

In an interview with Bored Panda, Molly DeVoss, a certified feline training and behavior specialist, told us that our domestic cats sleep on average from 16 to 20 hours a day, and that’s all part of an ambush strategy. “This strategy consists of stalk, chase, pounce, catch and kill. Cats will eat about 10 small meals throughout a day, which equates to around six cumulative hours of daily hunting; they are sleeping to refuel their energy for the hunt.” However, indoor-only cats may be napping out of boredom.
Some adorable cats feign sleep as a defense mechanism to cope with stressful situations. Other times, nodding off during the day may be a sign of aging. DeVoss suggests keeping an eye on your fuzzy companion and being aware of the signs of lethargy that would signal it’s time for a visit to the veterinarian.
I like how the black cat on the outside of it is keeping watch while his buddy is napping
I swear that orange cat looks exactly like my cat (Parker), along with the black cat (Faithful)!
Now, how do we get the stump out of the ground, and into the house ...
very nice Color Composition of blackthing and orangething. But the granite-looking thing objects obviously cropped was as natural as the presence of the leaves maple only and scattered in such as nature cannot. Good picture.
To us humans, who’d rather sleep in a warm and comfy bed, some places and positions in which these weird cats are found taking a nap look rather absurd. Cat behavior expert Rita Reimers told Bored Panda that it really is true—cats can sleep virtually anywhere. Among other places, they adore “sunspots, your bed, or tucking away in little quiet corners and cubbyholes.” They also prefer warm places like a warm basket of laundry fresh from the dryer.
The sign says: "Pet Basket with animal print". Well, they didn't lie...
I upvoted this because clearly, in total cat fashion, he has knocked over all the books to make his bed.
You’d have to have suction cups for toes to pull this one off successfully.
I thought this poem would be appropriate Anywhere Cats Sleep Anywhere Submitted By: mmcvaney Cats Sleep Anywhere Cats sleep anywhere, any table, any chair. Top of piano, window-ledge, in the middle, on the edge. Open drawer, empty shoe, anybody's lap will do. Fitted in a cardboard box, in the cupboard with your frocks. Anywhere! They don't care! Cats sleep anywhere. Eleanor Farjeon (1881 - 1965)
So much fluff & cuteness! My kitty can't sleep anywhere but she has some interesting sleeping poses. =D InShot_202...d35b1e.jpg
I have to stop reading to go find my cat so I can cuddle her for a bit. Every time NO has cat stories..
Load More Replies...This is so cute I always knew cats could sleep anywhere I have one and it sleeps halfway off in little play area and she just sleeps but what a great article.
I remember our cat was once found sleeping on a bucket full of rubble (we have previously taken down a small wall in the house). And it didn't look comfortable, there were a lot of shardy pointy pieces. Yet she looked like she was sleeping on a cloud. I miss this little weirdo so much.
To me, it seems like being a liquid offers a lot of opportunities to sleep in places non-liquid animals can't consider enjoyable. Can't get 'roun'that - I love cats, I love their weirdity and oddness, their approach of how to not give a fug in a carefully celebrated way, and I love the sound of a purring cat - waking up to this sound, looking into the face of a satisfied and happy cat - makes life worth living!
Oh yes, that's the Turkish cat documentary, isn't it?

LOL I just wrote and posted this on Instagram three days ago " You sleep on my desk and snooze on my chair You nap on the clean laundry covering my underbritches with hair . Stretched out on a shelf, curled up in the sink There's no place you won't snooze, I think . Sometimes even when I wake at night in my bed I'll find you snoozing and laid on my head ." #cat #catnap
It's hard to believe that cats have skeletons considering how much they are able to contort their bodies
Our 6 year old Tortoise Shell, Lola, loves wrapping herself up in the small rug in my bedroom to take a snooze. Unfortunately, I've tripped over her a few times :D. We still don't know how she manages to coil herself up in that rug
Thank you - food for the soul <3 All innocence and sweetness. When they're asleep :)
Sparky is always doing something questionable..... sigh. IMG_0171-5...5e2e5e.jpg
Right in the center of a doorway, any doorway, so that I have to step over him. I'm to much of a pushover to make him move.
