It's a well-known quirk of every weird cat that they love to squeeze themselves into the middle of things. Whether it's a box, a jar that's way too small or simply just sitting on your computer keyboard while you are trying to get your work done if there's an awkward space to be occupied a funny cat will soon come along and seize it.
Can you imagine then, the attraction of the nativity scene for our feline friends? All those tiny people to trample over, a manger to lie in, a little straw to sit on, Christmas decorations to knock over and most importantly, to be the center of attention. It's a feline paradise!
We here at Bored Panda have compiled a list of times when these cute cats couldn't help but crash the nativity scene. Scroll down below to check out the stubbornly, proudly awkward kitty cats in all their glory and don't forget to vote for your favorite funny photos!

Day 7. They Still Suspect Nothing
well we all know the story of Mary, Joseph, the ox the donkey and the cat in the barn in Jerusalem, they just do not give that Cat enough credit for ceeping the rats and mice away from poor Baby Jesus. So this courages Cat had to correct the error. Good for you Cat, good for you!
this nativity scene has featured 3 times in this post with different cats..it seems to be a popular meeting place..
Pretty sure there is at least one cat also in the manger in addition to the one between the donkeys!

Nothing in the world can be compared to a kitteh’s curiosity. Love these situations, and the faces of the people who see this.
i love how a lot of these cats have the face of realization like. *yes, i have found my place in the world, and it is glorious!*
My old cat used to sit in the nativity scene every year! Whether we had nothing in it, or our glass nativity set, or boxes, or if it was on its side...she was precious. She would keep sitting in it even if we picked it up. Her name was Lkn (Pronounced lichen, but my brother who was 3 years old at the time had no concept of vowels yet!). I miss her <3
There are a lot of good cats out there. Sounds like they were one of the good ones. :)
Load More Replies...Of course a cat should be a part of the nativity. A stable is a building that houses animals aka a barn. Every barn has cats- barncats.
For me this post Is really great. I am not even a car person. After seeing so many people post the word Hooman while speaking for the cat. I hear little voices of cats speaking in each picture. It was a Very fun post to look through.
I meant a cat person. I have cats and animals. So I am an animal person.
Load More Replies...my cat never crashed the nativity scene set under the tree but she had a thing for this specific sheep - we have several sheep figurines but every night she used to steal the same sheep and each morning we had to find it, one day it would be under the carpet, another she would carry it to another room etc.. she never touched anything else in the set
''Meow,'' in a manger, The little cat said, ''Worship me, feed me, And give me that bed... ''
This is so lovely, I was half chuckling and half weeping for sheer joy. When you think about it, there probably was a cat in the stable in Bethlehem. Stables often have problems of the rodent kind, so a rodent control officer (aka cat) would have been needed. And whose to say the cat didn't curl up in the manger with Baby Jesus, sharing each other's body warmth. For those who don't believe, just suspend your disbelief for a fraction of a second, close your eyes and imagine the scene. See the innocence therein and, perhaps, smile.
These are adorable! (Though that part in the back of my mind is wondering why everyone is so dang Caucasian in all these nativity sets :p )
They are all full of the curiousity, fur, and of course the cuteness LOL
The best thing about it is that no one can reproach cat for doing this. After all, they are god's creation (if you're into all that Christian shtick) and act the way they were mean to by the guy upstairs.
Around 1300, the Church declared cats evil, and tried to exterminate all the cats in Christendom (one reason the Black Death spread so easily). Maybe these cats are taking a mild revenge? Or is it just that cats feel they should be worshipped?
I just love cats! I love how they can be comfortable anywhere, how easily they achieve serenity and peace, and how easily they can turn into vicious but still adorable and graceful beasts. And how easily they can steal your heart. Cats are unique!
