Cat Refuses Owner’s Attempts At Cuddling, And It Has Gone Viral On The Internet
When it comes to getting attention, cats are for sure not beggars, but choosers. Humans find these little mammalian fluffballs hard to resist, and there’s no surprise there. Their cute-but-stoic face, their beautiful fur and elegant poses, all of them make it seem that cats just beg to be touched. But don’t make this mistake, folks. Cats, being the constant center of attention, rarely lack affection, and it’s up to them to decide when they want it.
Muji, this four-year-old cat from South Korea, perfectly illustrates the point. Though he is as cute and lovely as any other cat, Muji takes his alone time seriously, and shows it very expressly. Recently, one moment where Muji refused his owner’s cuddles went viral on the internet, and many, especially cat owners, found it funny and relatable. So let’s see what the fuss was all about.

Here’s Muji, the four-year-old tsundere cat from South Korea

For all of you baka gaijins out there, “tsundere” means “a stock love interest who is usually stern, cold, and sometimes hostile to the person they like and others. They will occasionally let slip their warm and loving feelings hidden inside. They hide their feelings due to being shy, nervous, insecure, or simply unable to help acting badly in front of their crush.
The Japanese term ‘tsundere refers to an outwardly violent character who ‘runs hot and cold,’ alternating between two distinct moods: ‘tsuntsun’ meaning ‘aloof or irritable’, and ‘deredere’ meaning ‘lovey-dovey.'”
Just recently, a moment of Muji and its owner went viral on the internet

There he was, just chilling on the counter, when the owner approached to cuddle

Muji was very reluctant

“Ok, this is getting old”

“Aaand I’m out”
Note the look of defeat from the owner.
“We’re done here, please let me go”
But maybe Muji just didn’t feel like it that time? Let’s try that again

“I thought I told you, bro”

“Do you wanna get slapped?”

Muji’s has a ginger sibling cat named Makji

And as you might guess, Makji also gets on Muji’s nerves

“I sense his presence”

“Stop interrupting my zen”

Just a random idea, but these two cats would for sure be a good duo in some sort of anime. Imagine a silly ginger ‘deredere’ cat with an arrogant, white ‘tsuntsun’ cat: the adventures they would have, the interactions, the dialogue… It would be epic. Anyway. One could only wish for it. Let’s hope this hilarious moment between them might spark an idea to someone who’s able to execute it.
Despite these impressions, Muji wants warmth and affection just like any other cat

But unlike other cats, Muji likes solicited snuggles, and prefers to ask for them

Just don’t interrupt Muji when he’s meditating

while cats share traits with many other cats, they have the potential to be extremely unique, displaying behavior that's unlike almost any other cat; and yes, you do need to learn what yours likes, dislikes, and will tolerate
Load More Replies...He's grumpy because he is over bred and is in constant pain. It's not cute to buy Scottish folds, it's barbaric
Load More Replies...I am so sick of people promoting cat and dog breeds with deformed charitaristics, especially when they are 'trendy' like pugs and Scottish folds. Causing something to be in pain because you like the way they look is just selfish cruelty. For anyone that doesn't know, cats with folded ears look like this because they have a genetic weakness of the cartilage. Their ears basically collapse under their own weight. This weakness affects all cartilage in their body, not just ears, leading to joint problems and chronic pain.
So how do you know this isn't a rescue from a shitty breeder, or any other situation besides they bought him from a breeder and promote the breed.
Load More Replies...Muji and Makji from South Korea, not Japan. Their instagram is written in Korean as well.
The article is very misleading then, as it says they are from Japan. Regardless, their apartment is beautiful! So uncluttered!
Load More Replies...Scottish folds are so beautiful, but prone to grumpiness like any Scot.
They have near chronic joint pain due to their bad cartilage. You would be grumpy too.
Load More Replies...Scottish folds live in constant pain that's why the grump. The cute way their ears fold is actually defect that also causes arthritis and other debilitating joint problems. Stop promoting them. Breeding of them should be banned
Yup, 100% right. Around here breeding them is banned, but not everywhere else sadly.

True. I prefer mutts. Chances are that NO ONE has a dog quite like mine if I don't even know it is. Lol.
Load More Replies...Calls us Baka gaijin in the start of the article but can’t tell Korean and Japanese apart. Yikes.
Luckily, red hair clips. Def looks alarming https://www.instagram.com/p/CW8JhHbJzXD/

And especially since the man and cat are Korean, but Japanese. So the author is extremely obtuse
Load More Replies...That shot of him in the hall is amazing. They could have used him in The Shining instead of the twins.
My cat doesn't like his back legs being touched. I forgot about that until the vet suggested he had arthritis because he got angry when she touched them. He doesn't. Just doesn't want to be touched there, and I forgot because who does stuff to a cat they don't like.
I love the expressiveness of that little face. My cats are almost all serious snugglers by nature, but they would all have walloped the tar out of me if I shoved myself into their space like that. I really like the humans digs, by the way... very elegant.
Can anyone explain why are there hair clips on the cat's ears on the first photo??? Please tell me it's not what I think
I can’t tell MUJI’s mood because his ears don’t move. Lots of cats don’t enjoy human faces in front of their own.
I have a cat very much like that. She will usually duck away from pets, but sometimes she'll follow me room to room and jump on things to get to arm level. I hold out my hand, she'll rub it, then paw at me so I let her step up into my arms on her own.
I have three cats. A white one who only wants love, but only from his humans. Hates strangers. A black cat that only wants solicited attention, unless you are my youngest son, then always wants cuddles. And my grey cat, who likes to be held like a baby and get up in your face for kisses and nuzzles. And tends to love everyone. All cats are different in their personalities.
My cat always made sure you ended up the snuggle with your nose in his ear. Think it might have felt good for him to clean out his ears that way. ;D
Our kid can do whatever he wants to our cat and he's a goofy purr bucket. I can too but sometimes I get the muuuuuuji stink eye. My husband gets the same treatment this poor guy does every time, lol
Whenever I try to cuddle Luna, she kicks me in the face and tries to escape. When I try to cuddle Munchie, she´s just confused about where she is and what is happening. I don´t have cuddly cats, but very attention-demanding little demons. Especially during class.
A very beautiful kitty, the fur is incredible, I have two cats{ adopted as kittens } my two girls personality is quite different, but fortunately both are very affectionate, I am retired therefore, Lots of cuddles and pampering, and they entertain me, I am blessed !!!
This always surprises me. Every cat I have ever owned is cuddle bug and they have all been affectionate. More proof you should rescue and not buy
My moggy loves having his face smooshed into a human face and usually looks equally grumpy. He's a "found in the side of the road" cat and has a lovely personality. In my experience, the more you display affection and respect boundaries the more loving your cat will become. Even my "mean" rescue became a cuddle bug after she learned to trust me (side note: do NOT declaw your cat! This little girl came to me declawed and ANGRY.)
I'm sorry, are there cats that DON'T prefer to get attention on their own terms? If I tried to replicate this photo series with my cats NOT approaching me for attention, I would almost certainly be bleeding. Congratulations on writing an actual bad article about cute cats. (And on getting the place wrong and insulting your readers.) Hard fail here.
The guy is an inconsiderate prick as he doesn't seem to care that the cat doesn't like physical contact. Leave it alone or even better, give it to someone who can relate to cats.
What the f*****g s**t....there's Rubber bands on its ears. Eat s**t bored panda the f**k are you promoting this for
There's really no point in saying "it's gone viral" when it clearly hasn't. You just sound desperate. Of course, Buzzfeed will probably love it.
