4 Years Ago, I Saw A Ridiculous-Looking Picture Of A Cat On A Glass Table, So I Decided To Start An “Under-Cats” Project (24 New Pics)
Hi guys, my name is Andrius Burba and I'm a photographer from Lithuania. I'm happy to present my new project photographed on the glass plate from underneath!
“Underlook” project started four years ago when I saw a ridiculous looking picture on the Internet. It was a cat sitting on a glass table that was photographed from underneath. I decided to level up the idea and photograph it professionally to see those paws in hi-res and that is how the “Underlook” project was born.

Maine Coon
The very first photo shoot took place at an International Cat Show in Vilnius (I got to photograph a lot of show winners and cats that were best of the best). Those photos went viral and people were crazy about them. After that dogs, rabbits, bicycles and even horses followed. Let’s just appreciate for a second the difficulty of a horse project here. I had to dig a hole 3 meters deep for myself to be at while only a thick glass was separating me from the horse above. It was so unique that horses even had to wear custom-designed leather shoes in order to prevent glass from scratching and the horse from slipping.
British Shorthair
British shorthairs are very playful and affectionate cats that make fiercely loyal companions, especially for single people. You've probably seen many cats of this breed without even realizing it, for example, the cunning Puss in Boots and the grinning Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland.
Oriental Shorthair
Oriental Shorthairs are easily distinguished by their bat-like ears, almond-shaped eyes and perfectly lean bodies. Not only do they have a perfect appearance but also these felines are actually very intelligent. They are considered to be among the smartest (if not the smartest) of all cat breeds. Of course, being smart and having a perfect body makes you a natural born entertainer! This breed is very vocal, adores to be the center of attention (why wouldn't they?) and requires a lot of attention.
But enough about old news. If you have ever seen “Underlook” photos before, you might have noticed that all of them were photographed in a black background. For my new project, I decided to lighten it up a bit by making colorful backgrounds the new black. The process of making animal photos from underneath in colors is a much more difficult project. The colorful backgrounds had to be changed all the time instead of leaving one background for the whole photo shoot. Paper backgrounds were used for this project which made it more difficult to maintain it perfectly stretched. That complicated the editing process, but hey, it was worth the work and today you can finally see the results! “Under-cats” with a colorful twist is something that you could just sit and look at all day!

Japanese Bobtail
Maybe it’s spring, maybe it’s love, maybe it’s everything together but only one question worries us - how far can the “Underlook” project go?
(Spoiler alert incoming!)
We’ve heard them talking about tigers from underneath. Wait, what?! Yep. It’s coming.

Japanese Bobtail
This feline is easily distinguished from the rest thanks to a bobbed tail which looks like a pom pom. Cat-lovers believe the Japanese Bobtail to be an ancient breed, and that, originally, it was Buddhist monks who owned the kitties. Today, though, they're popular good luck symbols frequently depicted as ceramic ornaments.
Selkik Rex Longhair
A cat that is gentle, sociable, and loves cuddling! The Selkirk Rex is a perfect choice for families with older children, other pets or frequent guests. The Selkirk Rex can come in many colors and patterns, including pointed, however, the most distinguishable feature is its curly coat which comes from the dominant gene in this breed.

Egyptian Mau
Egyptians held cats in high regard, they were even treated as though they were deities. Perhaps, because of that, Egyptian Maus still like to sit up high and survey their surroundings like a just ruler. These felines will often act as if they are in a complete control of their environment. In addition to that, they are very strong and just as active. This kitten is known to have a very balanced temperament.
Ragdoll
These are the cats that thrive on human companionship, and they just love being held. Perhaps because of that they are described as "lap cats". These are, indeed, very beautiful cats, and aside their plush fur, Ragdolls have bright blue eyes. Make no mistake, though, this is not a small cat! Ragdolls are one of the largest cat breeds.
Devon Rex
This pixie-like feline (because of the oversized ears and an "elf" face) is a curious and playful companion that doesn't like being left home alone. Because of its sweet nature this breed is often described as "forever a kitten at heart". Devon Rexes are also known for their dog-like qualities, so if you want a companion that will follow you around at home, and if a dog is not quite an option to you, you might want to consider a Devon Rex!

Maine Coon
These giant felines are often thought to be the biggest cat breed, while in reality they fall somewhere between Norwegian Forest Cats (weighing up to 16 pounds) and Ragdolls (weighing up to 20 pounds). Nonetheless, these are still massive animals that are "dressed" for winter. One odd thing about these giant balls of fur is that, well, they just love water! While other cats will use their claws, if need be, to avoid taking a bath, Maine Coons are likely to jump right into the bathtub.
Burmese
Often described as the "dog cat", the Burmese cat has almost dog-like devotion but with an attitude that typically characterizes feline. Even though this breed gets along with almost everyone and every animal, they also like to remind us that they have to be treated with the respect that they deserve. They are active and curious cats as well as good climbers and jumpers so their owners have to be prepared to dedicate a lot of time for their games.

Maine Coon
I had a beautiful Maine c**n once with big paws. He had a Tuxedo pattern. Beautiful boy, I miss him.
Bengal
Bengal has a supple body, oval eyes and a coat covered in spotted or marbled markings. Because of their beautiful coat, bengals look like tiny jungle cats. Owners of these felines note that their pets are intelligent, vocal and very active, often climbing furniture, playing fetch, and splashing around in bathtubs and sinks.
American Curl Longhair
This breed is often referred to as the "Peter Pan" of the cat world. This is because it's no surprise to see older American Curl Longhairs skipping through the house with just as much energy as the younger Curls have. This is the cat that will love learning and playing fetch. Be careful doors and cabinets, because Curls are perfectly capable of handling doorknobs without breaking a sweat.

Oriental
Oriental cats are natural born athletes and you can probably tell just by looking at their sleek silhouette. This breed is closely related to Siamese cats, therefore, they have similar features like almond-shaped eyes, large ears, a triangular head shape and of course, muscular body. They also share similar behaviors, as they are talkative and opinionated. They won't hesitate to tell you their thoughts in a loud, raspy voice, and you'd better pay attention! So if you enjoy having someone to talk to all day long, this feline could be your best friend!
Hi guys, thanks for the correction. I had mentioned this cat is Siamese, but after more research, i find out, this is really Oriental! We mixed up the number in official cat exhibition cat catalog where all the cats names and breeds are. The owner had 5 cats and might told us the wrong cat number. But it's ok, we will change to Oriental :) 💛
