30 Of The Most Adorable Photos Of Cat Dads And Their Furry Friends
There are plenty of stereotypes out there when it comes to guys and cats; they are sensitive, deep and caring, more likely to fancy staying home reading James Joyce and puffing moodily on a cigarette than be out and about exploring the world like those adventurous dog guys.
Unsurprisingly, with a growing trend for such character traits as sensitivity, emotional unavailability and not having children, house cat ownership among guys is on the rise too. 'Cat dads' they are called, and maybe, just maybe, they are onto something because the ladies just can't seem to get enough of it!
Don't know what we mean? Well, we here at Bored Panda have put together a list of cute cats and their equally cute guys so that you can judge for yourself. No matter where you stand on the great cat/dog divide, there's something about a human and an adorable animal sharing an obvious connection that is oh-so-appealing. Scroll down below to see for yourself, and share your own in the comments!

This Picture Was Taken Before Chip Died. His Cat Dad Took Him Out One Last Time To Enjoy What He Loved
To get some insights on the joy of being a cat person from a male perspective Bored Panda spoke to the ultimate cat dad, Cat Man Chris. Chris and his cats area hugely popular presence online, which really kicked off when he started a YouTube channel about his beloved moggies Cole and Marmalade. "I had my personal YouTube channel which I converted to Cole's channel about two weeks after we adopted him," Chris told us.
"I found out that black cats are the least likely to get adopted and most likely to be euthanized in animal shelters because people still believe they're bad luck and often choose cats with more colorful fur/patterns as family pets. So that's when I decided to make a video called "10 reasons to adopt a lucky black cat" and that went viral, so I decided to make that my new hobby, just making videos with Cole to show people how pawsome black cats are."

My Boyfriend Cliff Works From Home, But Our Kitten Simon Insists On Being Held Multiple Times Throughout The Day
This was impacting Cliff's ability to get work done so we had to fashion a kitten sling so that Simon could get his snuggles in and cliff could work.
"I've always liked cats," Chris continues. "We had them all the time when I was growing up, but my love for cats got serious when I moved to Florida in 2008 to work at a big cat sanctuary (lions and tigers) (https://bigcatrescue.org/). I really started to appreciate how great they were working around big cats and I also had a resident sanctuary cat that lived with me in my trailer on the grounds. Domestic cats are just like their wild cousins, just mini versions that can't kill you.... I don't think anyway?!"
"I like dogs too don't get me wrong, but I'm definitely a cat guy meow... dogs bark and a lot of the time are begging for attention and they need walking everyday. Cats are easier to care for and have their own strong personalities just like dogs, they can also be super affectionate, but that the same time they are very independent and like doing their own thing... it really is like living with mini tigers, house flies don't stand a chance in this home!"
"They always keep us entertained and kitty therapy is my favorite, just laying on the couch watching movies with a purring cats, it's the purrfect stress relief."

My Dad Has Achieved 100% Cat Relaxation
Chris does cat rescue work in his own time now, helping out kitties in need around his local area in Florida."I'm still involved with Big Cat Rescue and was in Africa at a sanctuary a couple of years ago working mostly with lions... but now I work with my local rescue society and with people who message me on FB/IG about cats in need, mainly I do TNR work... this is where you Trap Neuter/Spay and Return feral cats, this helps keep feral cat populations down and stops the cycle of suffering, soooo many kittens are born and die on the streets each year."
"Here's my rescue channel so you can see what I do, I try and help any cats in need, a recent rescue was of a werewolf cat!" https://www.youtube.com/catmanchrispoole

As for the whole cat guy/dog guy thing, it simply doesn't register with Chris, who has far more important things to care about. "I've not personally encountered any stereotypes about men who own cats, since people know me, only cat people approach me I guess! ... It's definitely becoming much cooler to be a cat guy now!"
It sure is Chris! Scroll down for more guys and their cats below!

People who think cats are not affectionate don't understand cats. You get what you give with cats. Dogs will try to be good to you even if you treat them badly. Cats only love you if you deserve it.
Not entirely true, I love my cat, she's goofy and adventurous, but not at all affectionate. We give her all kinds of affection and love, but she doesn't return it. We still love her anyway, although my mom wishes we had a more affectionate cat. Cats aren't a program where you get what you give, they're individuals who will be themselves. Cats are happy if you treat them right though, as we should all be striving to do.
Load More Replies...me to hubby: It's a bonded pair we have to adopt both! Hubby: ugh, fine Hubby 2 days later to one of the half-grown rescue kitties: "Who's my sweet little Dixie cup kitty? Who's my sweet little Dixie cup?" Eight months later: "Who's my sweet little Dixie cup kitty?".... Married to that man over 25 years and I've never been his sweet little anything... Is it wrong to wonder why a cat has better pet names, pun intended, than I do?
Just enjoy it. For some folks it is hard to express their feelings in words and easier to talk to cats. Once they get started the nice words will get shared with you :)
Load More Replies...I tend to instinctively distrust people who don't like cats (if not allergic). How can anyone look at a fluffy big-eyed kitty and not want to cuddle them?! These cat dads with cats are adorable :D
I had a traumatic experience with a feral cat when I was like, 5. Hated them until a couple years ago when the internet changed my mind!
