"Well, That Sucks": 64 Unfortunate Car Owners Who Are Probably Having A Worse Day Than You
There are few things more terrifying than when something happens to your precious. By ‘precious,’ I mean your car, of course. And by ‘your,’ I mean that you may or may not have just made your final car payment before something horrendous happened to your beautiful gilded horseless carriage.
It might have been your fault; it might have been a darn seagull that dropped a catfish on your windshield (true story); it might even have been the Universe that messed up. But either way, some car owners are having such a horrible day that they can loudly proclaim that it sucks (and it’s way worse than yours)! So it’s no wonder that they posted their experiences on the ‘Well That Sucks’ subreddit.

I feel like this has to be fake. I work in finance and have received deliveries from Brinks, G4S and GardaWorld. The driver never exits the armoured car. Only the guard/guards in the back who deliver/pickup the cash. I can't see how this could feasibly happen.

I can relate to this. The steering wheel came off in the driver's hands,, the car stopped up on the curb, and we got a parking ticket.

Not necessarily, maybe you can just make a phone call. My husband once got a wrong speeding ticket and it was resolved with just a phone call. (If you're curious about what happened, here in Korea there is a service where you can call other licensed people to drive you home in your own car if you had a drinking night. However, that driver was speeding, thus, although it was my husband's car, the driver had to bear the consequences. )

This is why I won't drive behind anyone with stuff sticking out of the back of their truck. I once watched a truck with a little trailer attached, with a city logo on the side, with boards with nails sticking out, just driving around town with nail boards bouncing off the trailer. they didn't even try to strap them down.

I have always had a nightmare scenario playing in my mind about a large truck tipping over on the motorway and falling onto my car when I drive by them (especially the extra tall ones) in high winds... a few weeks back I saw the results of my scenario as a truck had toppled onto a delivery van and crushed half of it on the opposite side of the road (three lane highway).

If you are behind a truck with unsecured load, stay far, far back. You should always keep a safe distance. Stay even further back than that. In my home town an ANVIL (yes, an anvil) bounced out of the back of a truck and killed someone. Shame on any drivers who don't secure their loads.

Up to 25 years ago a car was safe. The car was made of sheet metal and the windows were smaller. The design was nearly a Faraday cage. Now rooftops, windshields and hood aren´t made of metal anymore, so the safety of the Faraday cage disappeared. You´re just a safe as in an open carriage.

Yeah but the metal of those cars made their crumple zone more dangerous in a crash. A modern car is designed to burst into pieces and leave you inside the husk, rather than trapping you in the crumple zone framework.

That can cause a fire? I spilt oil on my engine and drove that car for ten years after that. It had several mandatory inspections during that time and only once did they even care to note that there was oil spilt over my enigne. It was half a bottle.

Some insurance does not cover "acts of god". There is an apartment complex down the road from me where cars kept flooding when it rained. Apartment manager claimed " acts of god", not the apartments responsibility. News crew went by there. Found out the apartments drainage system (?) was blocked. Apartment was responsible because a blocked drain is not an "act of God" like rain is. News said apartments were going to have to pay for their cars. This was like 2 weeks ago.

Cows do NOT eat rotten potato slurry! Silage is fermented and hay is dried but I have NEVER heard of any farm animals being fed rotten slurry- even pigs have standards! From experience I can say that chickens eat the grossest diet of animals I have reared (includes pigs, cows, sheep, goats, chickens, rabbits, geese, guinea fowl, guinea pigs and pigeons...).

Once I managed to something sort of like this. I somehow managed to get the car lock into a locked position but outside the lock itself. So I couldnt shut the door completely. It was such a pain to drive to the local car repair with a rope around the window frame to keep it closed. ....ok, now I feel better about my youth. BP can be so therapeutic!

Whoever removed the door card didn't put the screws back in, and probably broke enough of the Christmas-tree fasteners that the insulating gasket held the card in place when they opened the door.

When I was 5 my mom stopped at a lawn that was far away from the house but close to the road to pick up pine cones for a project I think. (1983). She had just picked up one or two when a runaway hubcap came out if nowhere and almost ran me over. She snatched me up and ran back to her car. She said she never trespassed again.

I had that happen to me. I was sitting at a stop sign on the way to work and a snow plow made too wide a turn. First snow of the season. Plow driver was in the wrong but I ended up paying the deductable and my insurance took care of the rest. Town wasn't responsible because it was a so called emergancy vehicle.

Bowhunters? Which, btw, is so incredibly inexact it should never have been made legal. Any idea just how many deer I see dead on the road with arrows sticking out of their bellies? Not only did the hunter not understand that getting a clean shot hitting a moving object is way harder than hitting a stationary one (so just use a gun, ffs!), they didn’t even track the poor animal to put it out of its misery, which is the ultimate cruelty, and the mark of someone who should never hunt. I don’t hunt myself, but grew up with four older brothers who hunted. I learned early that good hunters have great respect for the animals whose herds they’re helping to cull (so they don’t over populate and starve, which itself is also cruel), so would take whatever time and effort is necessary to track any animal they don’t make a clean shot for, to put as fast an end to their misery as possible. Those who don’t do that don’t respect the animal, so should never be allowed to hunt. Period.

Modern cars are quite difficult to steal. Plus, the 'whole car' has a VIN number attached to it. Tires are just tires, with no trackability of ownership they can be fenced easily.

Seriously, though, this is a MUCH easier fix than any of the others. It's just snow, and not, like, the fill-the-car-with-snow amounts. This is just spilled water, and brush off the big bits off the electronics and take it to an indoor heated garage, and you're fine.

In most European countries you are not supposed to dispose of paint cans together with the normal household waste. Instead you drop them of at a place that will process the cans in an environmental friendly way. Some goes for batteries and all kind of leftover chemicals like paintstripper.

Sadly keys fit almost perfectly in that groove so you open your trunk put them there so you don't forget and lock them in your trunk, grab your stuff ....forget and lock them in the groove instead.

That implies he plans on touching any metalwork on his way over there. In order to be electrocuted, he needs to be the thing providing a path to ground. Also, the reason there is a minimum height off the floor for electricals in utility spaces (16" in my area).

So slide the seat forward (and recline the back), and use the extra slack to release the brake.

The pulling-gently method includes letting the seat belt slide back in a bit before you can pull it out - otherwise the mechanism inside stays in the locked "state". Not possible here, the brake is keeping it firmly stretched out. And the parking brake presumably has to be pushed downwards like a lever to release it - not possible here, the seat belt is keeping it in the upwards position.

I nearly jumped out of my skin when I caught a glimpse of a bumble bee sitting on my high viz vest near my shoulder... I managed not to freak out but pulled the vest to the side a bit then drove a few miles and pulled over to allow the bee to sidle onto a rose flower. Karma is my friend.

Had one drop onto my shoulder while driving on the freeway at 70 mph once. Screeched over to stop in Emergency lane, and jumped out of my car like a screaming little bitch. No idea what happened to spider...but took an hour and a Sheriff’s Deputy to clear my car before I could drive away. Obviously, I have a deathly fear after being bitten by Black Widow once before.

Paint on a car isn't a nightmare to remove if caught in time. I woke up once to find my car spray painted with graffiti, however it was simply removed with a wet cloth. I'm pretty sure a power washer could remove a lot of the paint in these photos, if not all.

about a couple of years ago or so, my mom got a new windshield, and a week later our neighbor's/landlord's tree broke in a storm and a huge branch fell on our truck. he was supposed to pay, but he did a crappy job and now our passenger door sounds like the window is cracked all the time and when it rains it starts to leak from the sunroof unless we put something up there to stop it.

I was on a bus going through the Sydney airport when a woman carelessly opened her car door right in front of us. No-one was hurt, but the door ended up looking like a concertina and the woman got a nasty fright.

OK, this happened 2 weeks ago = I bought a very nice SUPER CLEAN used minivan and had had it for three days. My friend noticed a loose bolt under the driver's seat, grabbed a can of spray paint I'd just bought (new; ie: FULL) and used it to hammer the bolt home. Bolt still needs repair. Interior, including ALL windows were redecorated. I can't make this s**t up. spraypaint...1b030b.jpg
